Well, yesterday Nintendo released a sort of client that allows for watching of streaming video. I ...guess.
This month is "Metroid" month, apparently, so that's the guise the client took. Oh, temptation of temptations. I just could not help myself. I had to look. I wanted to see the file (available August 13th, I gather) which shows the morph-ball but...no. Not available. See, that's how these things start: I just want to see a morph-ball. That's it. Just a plain, innocent morph ball. Oh, also, it's from Nintendo- not some lame video site. It's "official." It's no less spoiling, as should have been clear to me. Just because the filthiness is from a pretty, official source doesn't make it right.
It makes sense to me that God isn't impressed by us getting into a situation of temptation then having a 50% chance of getting it right. He wants us to skip out on those numbers, fleeing temptation early. As that's the surest way to avoid temptation. I failed that today. Lesson learned. Sure, it was only...one thing that was spoiled for me, and it was probably a really early occurrence, but...still. I feel so dirty. Spoilers are bad. Just so we're clear, I'm not using Metroid Prime 3 as an analogy for pornography. I'm...you know...I'm talking about Metroid Prime 3. I could see how you could make that mistake. I mean, I couldn't...but ... I mean...as in, that you could mistake my tone, not mistake Metroid Prime 3 for pornography. Not that it is in any way. Just to clarify. I mean, I just don't want to see spoilers. It ...spoils the game. I guess the same could be used as marriage, you know, pornography "spoils" marriage, but that's not what I mean. You'd have to be actively looking to see that. I mean, example, I could read an article on Amazon.com on choosing butterfly nets, and mistake that for bee catching nets. You know, they use the same words. "Net," "capture," "tensile strength," "Nettrometer," "'Famed Netgun,'" "net square," "net triangle"... it goes on and on. So yeah, it'd be really simple to think that. That's like having a dirty mind, though, if you think about it. It's just reading into things, and that, as far as I am concerned, is a spoiler in itself. Therefore, let us refrain from reading into things in the future, hmm?
Uhm...anyway, then, once I'm there (selecting the videos), I either watch one which spoils one fight very efficiently, or watch what I deem the "trailer," or "gamespoiler." Instead of the morph-ball video, y'know. I chose to watch the trailer. As far as I know, these have been up for quite a while (I am positive of the one, but not the other), but not on a Wii VC client. Like I said. Pretty, official, justifying source.
Honestly, I do not suggest watching either one. Samus looks -way- too hot standing in that window-building thing (she is suited). It makes me wanna cry! Strange thing is, she wasn't doing anything. Just standing there...I mean, it's not like her hair can be whipped in the wind or anything. Surely nothing like that one commercial where those two girls lick the same icecream cone at the same time. Uh, thus why I no longer watch G4.
I'd say the trailer spoils a few things (what counts as a spoiler?), though I could not finish watching it because I had stars and hearts lodged in my throat, along with a few bouquets of roses, causing me to pass out. Her arm cannon was the vase (by the way that would be THE greatest birthday present EVER! A Samus Aran Arm Cannon vase-- BEST PRESENT EVER! I'D CHOOSE TO BE BURNED AND HAVE MY ASHES HURLED INTO SPACE IN IT)...(dreamy sigh)
Oh, God, kill me now!
Anyway...it's only a little over a month to go. 40-or-so days. I guess it was pushed back another day (to August 28th), but I'm waiting until I have the all-clear from sweet Lady Winter to actually play. I get the all-clear around September 21st or 22nd. It descends from her sweet, sweet, frosty lips.
Until that time, I will most likely remain intensely busy, burying myself in work to pass time, yet keeping afloat enough to not drown. Speaking of drowning, I am hauling water for the Wilson's again (their hauler had a heart-attack for the third time again, sadly), so that's adding 5 hours in blinding sun to my week. I will have to see how long this is going to last. Also have to begin making and freezing meals. My parents have gripes with everything, so...I'm not sure what to make.
Soups are all despised...chili is too starchy (no matter how fantastic that starchy cornbread I make is). I guess I could cook up a ham. Chicken gets old too fast. Maybe I should just grind up 400 pounds of beef and make sausage. We can eat nothing but pure meat for a month. How could you complain? Observe:
"Man. This is horrible."
"Yeah, well, that's our homegrown meat."
"THIS IS FANTASTIC! WHERE DID YOU GET THE RECIPE- GOD BLESS THOSE COWS!"
I am coming to the end of my venting, fear not. There's going to be food. I am going to cook it. They will eat it, or...they'll die. Their choice. They can help now in deciding what they want, or suffer the consequences. Otherwise, we're going through a month of Broccoli Casserole and Chicken Spaghetti. Over a month. I thoroughly enjoy both...my parents ruthlessly despise their very existence. Let's see who loses out in this plea bargain, shall we?

Kev's "Home" Improvement Project
I have adopted a part of our yard. Sort of like adopting a highway. Only it's dirtier than a highway. OOH, BURN! To wit: I adopted it and am going to clean it up. Why? Well,
The reason for cleaning up this area of the yard is that flower garden I've always wanted. Nothing says, "Wow! This guy is NUTS!" like a flower garden! Plus, I peddle flowers at church. I'd sell them for like, $2 or $5 a bundle, and people would donate it, sort of like buying it for the church.
Additionally...the area... it... looks terrible. I'd like one clean area of the yard to relax in. I'm not saying it's filthy. It's filthy by my "I wish it weren't so" standards, but you should see the real "junkyards" we have around here. The Frefallows down the lane, our drug-using neighbors, have so much junk in their yard they could trigger the Second Coming. Want to know the best part? It's all worthless! Hah, hah, hah! Seriously- they couldn't sell any of that stuff if they shot themselves!
So, I've spent five-to-six days so far (spread out over two weeks), getting 2 recycling-can garbage cans full of junk and one very full F-150 truckbed of tree trimmings (here is the somewhat-hollow tree canopy I'll be paying a lot of attention to):

It's real nice in the mornings. Casts shade forever, it seems. Lots of garbage there, but that's only one fourth of the junk in the area. LJ, my Mom's dog, ripped apart a couch (like pitbulls do), and it floated underneath the branches. So I'll have to figure a way to get that fluffy stuff out from under there, as well as devise a plan for removal of this junk. I can fill an entire garbage can in about 40 minutes.
Funny thing is, it is stuff we brought from our old house. Lesson of the day: When you're moving, take that time to throw your junk away! Seriously! Don't screw around; this is your chance to make a clean start. You'll only shamefully throw it away some years later, so cut yourself the shame. And the suffering.
Plus, you can acquire new, useless-worthless junk at that point, if you so desire. I mean, you'll never use the old useless-worthless junk, anyway, so get some new useless-worthless junk you can't use: a stroller with two wheels... a door that's broken in half... a TV with a broken screen (to be frozen until they can figure a way to fix broken screens?)... a washing machine which is probably just missing a belt... a microwave you're not sure works...all will be yours for the taking with your newly found space. Or you can look on the space and go, "Wow, this doesn't look like...like a pile of junk. This is GREAT!"
...so uh, this area should be clean just in time to start planting. When that happens, don't say you didn't see it coming!
Then I'll need to devise a way to repel birds, bugs, and dogs.
But we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

Twenty-Two Days to Corruption
Metroid Prime 3.
Apparently, Here is the sickeningly sweet, butterfly infested tag of Things I Love Metroid Prime 3 got pushed back 7 days, and I have no idea why, and that's because I am abstaining from information about the game. For what reason under God's blessed, round green globe, you ask? Well, why should I hype myself up by reading everything about the game? I'll go crazy at that point, and may face disappointment. I'd have to break into someones home who I know has a gun and force them to shoot me. Then they'd be sorry. All of them! They'd all be sorry!
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption comes out August 27. That is really of no concern to me in terms of playing it, as I will be waiting until September 21st. I just want to build a shrine and stuff so I can worship it for the mean t...wait a minute...
Now...this could be a problem. I work with my Dad occasionally, right? I happen to be booked to work arm-in-arm with him straight up to his wedding day. About to October 10th. My birthday is October 6th. We're working on a cramped, creeped-out mobile home. Doors are 13" wide, and 4' tall. Death and Hell follow after.
I will begin playing Metroid Prime 3 on September 21st, as is tradition, begun when I first played Metroid Prime 2 back when, and I got some DUMB racing game at the same time. A-hah-ha-hah-hah. Racing games. Rofl. You know what racing rhymes with? Pacing. And you know what? Pacing is really, really boring. Much like racing games. They're basically one and the same. Basically.
So if I'm scheduled in for working until October 10th...uhh...
OK, let's find a way to weasel out of this, huh? My options are many. One, I could cut my arms off. That would...be self-defeating in purpose. I need those to walk.
\
I could fake a psychotic breakdown. "Oh no!" I could cry one morning. "The toaster is in the tub! All hope is lost! I have gone crazy and have to weasel out of working during my Metroid Prime 3 playthrough month which I have even postponed my parents wedding to preserve!"
The question is, how could I trick them into that... y'know, I could claim stigmata and say I need to visit the Pope, all the while having secretly climbed back into my bedroom window. I could dwell the halls at night, like Oledae McCriffterson, the world-famous cat burgler! But he did it the opposite way. He claimed stigmata, visited the Pope, then claimed not-stigmata, and climbed back into his supposedly vacant room at the Pope's Fortress of Darkness. Or, I assume that's what the Apostolic Palace is called. What makes that old man think he's anything special anyway?
Or I could work really, really hard, and try to get it all done sooner. Or I could just roll with the hills, and work while also playing Metroid Prime 3.
I don't know. I'd like to play at night, y'know...stay up till all hours, watching Star Trek in-between playing. Ahh, not to sound like a nerd, but Star Trek. Also, X-Files, but good episodes of that show are few and few between. Yes, I know, few and few.
I would drink the occasional RC, though I really hate soda (how is it so popular?). I'd have cabbage, cheetos (both hot and puffy), salted pickles (popcorn salt+pickles = awesome), strawberry whoppers and strawberries, along with dried apples, dried kiwi, and dried pickles (there's those green things again). Probably dried strawberries, too. When things dry, they become sour. Well, like apples do, for instance. So imagine what pickles would do. I seriously encourage the drying of apples.
I'd have those challah bread vegetable sandwiches once or twice, and a St. Patricks day feast one of the days. A feast leads to Reuben sandwiches from the leftover corned beef. Corned beef. I love it, but no idea why. It would surely be awenem.
Anyway...that's a while off. A month and a half. Wow. Not too far off, actually- I remember when it was 3 months! Not very far at all. Curses. Anyways, I can still have all that and work. I guess. The best part would be skipping making dinner. I could make crockpot meals, sure, and I will (I'd be amazed at what I can come up with!), but I'm not spending too much time on them. One huge thing is a clean room; I am perfecting that right now with my brain as I sleep. In the dark.
I could make up a gallon of "base," then take some base and combine it with whatever the main ingredient is, like pasta or broccoli. If it takes a quart of base, that's four meals for my trouble. Why did I not think of that aforetime? Those cool aluminum pans would work wonders, too. I could ...oh, listen to me, carrying on like a schoolgirl!
In ending, I have some weaseling to do.
Now, a word on televisions. I've wanted- keyword, here, is wanted- to play Metroid Prime 3 on an LCD TV for over 7 months, and I've wanted to play MP2 on one for over a year. I've heard there's a way to connect the Wii to a widescreen LCD which displays the games in Widescreen. I've also heard that it ramps up every game to widescreen, but I doubt. Maybe some games.
I know enough about widescreen televisions to know that if I want a TV roughly the same size as my current TV, it will have to be 24". My screen is 12" vertical. I think I could give a 10" vertical screen a big ole' bear hug and maybe share a mug of hot chocolate with it as I pour out my feelings to it...
I mean, you know, while watching ESPN. And ... drinking ...... beer.
Anyway...I can't find a reason for getting an LCD TV, other than I'd really like to play Metroid Prime 3 on one, and that's for two reasons.
One, it'll look better. If it's anything like the CRT VS LCD comparisons on Twilight Princess, it's going to be great. The sound is apparently better, as well, and I'm sure I can get a cheap surround sound thing or what not. Just two speakers, right? Like $20? $20.50 for a good set?
Two, it will allow me to take pictures of the game without freaky lines running rampant all over the place. I like taking pictures of games, you know.
Aside from that...I don't have too much reason. There are others, such as someday I'd like to get an X360, and sometime Nintendo will come out with a high-def system, so I'd be more or less futureproof. And I'd like to watch Spiderman 3 in widescreen, too, and that goes for a lot of movies, but I am not a movie-lover. Actually, movies are not a Kev-lover.
For an LCD in that size, it's going to cost upwards of $500. That's...a lot of money for a TV. So I'm going to think on it for a while. Like an responsible person (an responsible).

ION: Water Day, Teasing Clouds, Wedding, and Church Next Week
Today I got water (1 load TW 3 for us 330 left). It was uneventful, as Seven of Nine would say. You know, that Borg-human from Star Trek: Voyager. The series has just started replaying on Spike TV (well, "almost just"). A few weeks ago, it was showing 3-4 GGW commercials per show, and several condom commercials (ROFL, the one where all the guys are pigs, then become civilized once they have condoms! Yeah, right, laughing boy).
Now they're not showing either, except one or less of the latter. Hm. Still a lot of lame car commercials, and some "hottest bartender" commercials. Anyway, I'd much rather sit through an hour of commercials than 5 minutes of the Jim Bakker show. That guy looks almost as emotionally imbalanced as John McCain and seems almost as dull. See how I avoided calling him names, but pointed out valid character faults?
Seven of Nine finally has her normal suit. Before, she was walking around in a somewhat-shiny silver one, and, I swear, her breasts had to be at least the size of a human skull (maybe even a Klingon skull!). Each one. Now they seem much more normal. I first noticed it when B'Elanna was leaning over a console, and Seven was standing next to her.
I thought, "whoa, half of her total mammae must be at least the size of B'Elanna's head! And she's a filthy, dirty, yet lovable, half-Klingon! No, that's...can't be right...they don't bounce at all! And as we know, bouncing is a normative activity indicative of healthy breasts! Maybe she has very severe mastitis, which I recently learned humans can develop." But I digress. Aside from digressing, I just heard the word "supersperm" on TV. A show called "Village of the Damned." It's about mind-controlling kids which use their eyes, stuff like that. It's boring.
My Mom and Dad will be getting married here shortly. They were divorced, no one cares, blather blather, etc. I will be operating the video camera. We will need to purchase a Mini-DV, or possibly one of those fancy new hard drive containing gizmos. I need to catch back up with the camcorder market. We may even want to just rent one. It would probably be the best option- we don't have all that much to camcord. Get it?! LOL
My Mom recently bought the wedding dress. She was going to make one, but I told her, "Mom, I'd rather pay $250 for half of your dress than to see you waste your life making one that isn't going to look good. That pattern looks like CRAP!" After several weeks of delivering speeches like this twice-daily on work days and thrice-daily on home days, she caved. "Fine!" she screamed through tears. "I'll just go BUY the damned dress! OOH, I HATE YOU KEV!" she ran to her room. She'll thank me someday. Everyone will. Someday. Some...glorious day. The dress ended up costing $20. Don't ask.
Funny thing about today...it was cloudy, but there was VERY little rain. Our pastor mentioned a few weeks ago that they got what was called the "two-inch rain." One drop of rain every 2 inches. It was cloudy all around, and we probably had four waves of clouds go around us, one wave every 2 hours or so. It is technically too early to say that it did not storm, but... I took a lot of pictures, and I will delete them all if it does not storm. A distant city on a hill got pwnt by all four waves. Curse their bowels!
Also next week we have an arranged, I suppose it would be called a Bible study, with our pastor. We're special! "Now, Kev's Mom," he began a few days ago. "We really need to have a sit-down, open up the Book, and discuss this inappropriate behavior." With that, he looked over at me disgustedly, probably making sure I am OK with him treating my Mom that way. I mouthed to him, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten." His whole body shuddered and he looked down, gritting his teeth and clenching his fists. I musta spoke some power to him! Whoo! Church is going GREAT! I am totally looking forward to the meeting! We're gonna have lunch, but I don't know. A restaurant seems too noisy for a talk like that. I vote Subway, someone goes and gets the subs, then we all eat. I wonder if his family will stay or not? Hmm. I will bake a batch of those muffins, too.
Dan:
"OH MY GOSH!"
Ness:
"WHAT!"
Ness has sprawled herself out in improvised attack position, eyes wide and wild, daggers drawn. Dan speaks, then runs off:
Dan:
"It's Princess Paprika! EEE!"
Ness:
"Who?!"
Jayme (intones):
"The lovable, red-headed princess-spokeswoman for AllEmpec Foods. You know, the one who wears the red contacts."
Ness:
"Oh. Right. With the scary looking, talking clouds?"
Jayme:
"Uh-huh. She tells stories to small children."
Ness:
"I gathered that by the crowd of small children gathered around her. And Dan."
Jayme:
"...yeah, Dan has no shame..."
Ness nods soberly, sheathing her knives.
Now they're not showing either, except one or less of the latter. Hm. Still a lot of lame car commercials, and some "hottest bartender" commercials.

Team A Update- July 21st, 2007
Welcome the "Pondering" tag.
In the last few days, I have been writing TA script. I no longer am concerned as to whether it comes to fruition in animated or book form, the important thing is that I do write it. Later it can be converted into either. I am currently just about to do a skip in time of a few hours. So far, Ness has broken Jayme and Dan out of jail (detention, improvement training), bought them clothes and some survival gear (like $6,000 worth), and said some stupid stuff she doesn't understand why she said.
Much later, she will hurt some jerk whilst talking on the phone. She is calling back to her Ninja school (they're not supposed to do that in her case, as she barely just left), talking to the headmaster. He is a very good friend of her late brother's, and he raised her since she was two or three. His name is Samuel. Anyway, she is talking on a payphone, then some guy rides his motorcycle up. He is wearing a leather jacket and stuff. She leans out to tell him she's going to be a while, to which he replies (stupidly), "That's okay. I'm enjoying the view."
I am not sure yet how she strangles him- that is, knocks him out, not kills him. I am sure that I very much enjoy reviewing the script, as that allows me to change happenings. For example, there are several things at the beginning of the script I've had to change due to events several pages later.
I do think I would enjoy writing a book (enjoy is another word for love!), but I am not sure how I would go about it. It allows me a vastly superior medium than Flash, as...it would take perhaps up to 25 hours to tell the story- and I am talking animation time, not time to make the animation. That would take hundreds of hours. Probably an hour for each minute of animation, plus time to learn. So over 1,500 hours. Then voiceovers would take time. Add another 30 minutes for every minute of animation. Whew. How do people do it? Perhaps I am exaggerating.
On the flip side, if I wrote a book, I would have trouble ending the story, as well as timing it. Each book would cover a few months, likely. My fear would be ending the story- I still do not know how it will end. I have a general idea, but no...happy, well-tied-together ending. In Read or Die, it ended with them kinda just going on about their lives. That...I don't know. I guess I would prefer that over them all eventually dying, lol, but still.
The first step, I suppose, in writing a book, is to read books. I would have trouble getting behind a character- the Team will be together almost constantly, so it's not like I can switch to what's happening to another character from what's happening with this character. I love doing character thought processes. It allows the character to say so much more than they would be saying if it were verbal- another leg up book form has over Flash.
I assume it's only a matter of finding a book, or, perhaps genre, which provides an example of that type of writing- that is, depicting an event from a perspective other than one of the characters, yet also without a "storyteller" angle, or a "log of events" angle.
I find myself wondering what a graphic novel is like? I should order one. Just so you know, graphic novels are comic books, but heavy on the book. I guess. Not graphic in that sense. You know, like, dead people.
Speaking of which, recently I heard, on the same Harvest program which I saw Fred Stoeker (no time to check for spelling!) on, a Christian who makes comic books. He says he uses the same talent pool as Marvel or DC. That's encouraging.
I suppose if TA can sell, it can be produced. Right? After all, that guy does not hire from the same talent pool as Marvel and not make money off of his product. If he did not make money, he could not hire from that talent pool. Tomorrow is church. I am excited. Details tomorrow.
Possibly the best picture of Lionel and Precious.
