The Dinner Dilemma

A few days ago, my Dad made chili verde. Our version is cubed pork with yellow hots, onions, and green chili's. Green chili's and yellow hots are roasted on the grill or in a pan, and they make you cough real hard and your eyes water and all around feel like you're in a germ warfare arena. Especially with 500 degree air baking you off of the grill and the sun beating down on you. It's enough to drive a man to suicide.

There are two ways to make it: the good way, roasting the peppers, then blending them up in the blender, or the bad way- cutting them into rings and just making a soup out of it. This way is easier but it tastes like crap. He uh, made it this way, then added shredded roast. Weird. Weird.

He took out about 12 pounds of pork. Why he did this, I do not know. He only used 6, so there were 6 left over. I cut that 6 pounds up today, and decided to grind some of it.

I found another use for those wonderful gloves I may have mentioned. They make everything better. The picture is one of them over the pusher for the Kitchenaid meat grinder attachment- I don't want pork, or chicken, on the pusher. It is made of wood, and wood soaks stuff up and becomes waterlogged, right? Right. We don't want it to become porklogged.

And here is a trick I learned watching Good Eats. You put bread through your grinder and it does most of the cleaning for you. It works pretty good. Definitely less "yuck." And yes, that particular part of the kitchen *does* scream "axe-murderer-lives-here."

Ground pork is like the drink Sex on the Beach. You can say, "I'll take a pound of ground pork- either the drink, or the real thing!" to a burst of laughter and applause.

So, what to do with this precious bit of pork, I thought. I made 3 pounds. "I know!" I answered. "I'll make meatballs!"

"No, no! that will never work!" I cried. "What do I do with them once we've made them? Throw them to the dogs?!"

"No! Make spaghetti for dinner! You can make that sauce, and make some meatballs, and everyone will love you!"

"I'LL DO IT!" I answered excitedly, anticipating the thunderous applause I would receive...

So, I got the sauce started (Giada De Laurentiis' awesome, easy recipe, which I ). Now I realize, I do not have any spaghetti. And it's too late to make it from scratch. I am up against a wall, very much like Sarah Conner was before the terminator was killed in the first movie. My only hope is that my Mom will read this post and pick up some spaghetti from the store. That would make everything better forever.

As a bonus for you, my valued slave friend, here are a few pictures I took last night. If you must know, I was...uhh...I was...on a date ... with...Jack LaLanne's daughter ... Jackie LaLanne...yes, that's it. I was on a date with Jack LaLanne's daughter Jackie. What a clever excuse! That's the cold, hard truth. Flash Tag because that's a-some nice-a scenery-a. Ah, Mama Mia. Pepperoni. Ah-ravioli.

(Turok 2: Seeds of Evil begins)

Kev (gameplay being recorded):

"Yeah I got it Adon. Yeah ju-...shut up alr-...shut up. Come on. Shut up. Jus- shut up. Come on, I'm ready. Yeah yeah I know, let's go let's go. OK, Scotty. Beam me down."

(beamed down to surface):

"To right wrongs and triumph over evil...

...I am Sailor Moon!"

Yes, the beginning of my adventure in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil which I am hoping to tape. If I am going to tape it, I will need a mini DV camcorder. I could do an elaborate setup with my current camcorder, but that's so difficult and the quality so low it's prac-tactically stupid to do it.

I think this is a good way for me to advance my voice-acting skills. At this point I have like, 10 voices, but about 8 of them need serious work, and I'll get to hear what they sound like if I tape the gameplay. Oh, embarrassment of embarrassments. Rotten, stench-infested rule of embarrassment! How long will your GUN-BLASTED reign of chaos rain?!

I also have a plan for being after a monster (I have the perfect one in mind!) and, you know, "stalking" it, then...getting a phone call from "Grandpa"...then getting off the phone in a hurry, and looking back, and, CRAP, the thing is GONE. Then jumping down like an idiot right into the frenzy of it all (making an irrational decision just because it's gone).

I think I will be playing it with cheats, as I really do not have the time to go back 'cause of dying.

I suppose the first, qualifying step is to get a mini DV recorder. And I won't be buying a mini DV camcorder for a while. After that, I can do a test run and see if I can make myself laugh. If I can do that, I can do anything. I am a stone-cold, emotionless being of pure, 100% cane ANTI-LAUGH. That's right.

Unofficial Samus Aran Measuring Spoons

There are few things in this world more awesome to me than made up Samus Aran branded stuff. Such as the 'Samus Aran Deluxe Warm Sac,' which is a fictional, most likely helmet-shaped pillow of sorts, which holds heat for use during cold winter. I made it up, of course, but why not have warm sacs? Darn hippies. I mean, go heat up your pillow in the dryer, then sleep with it during the cold cold winter, and tell me you wouldn't buy a warm sac.

...so, imagine my surprise when a few weeks ago my mother brought home some measuring spoons. But no ordinary measuring spoons. Extra-ordinary measuring spoons! For, she also bought Measuring Spoon Binding Rings, and, combined, I NOW HAVE AN UNOFFICIAL (homemade) SAMUS ARAN MEASURING SPOON SET! YAAAAAaay!!!1 Picture at right! Or...hold on. I have to edit it a bit in Flash. No, I don't have Photoshop on this comp. I'm not a freak.

Okay, finally done. I bet it would go faster if I had Photoshop. As it is I have to switch between Paint and Flash about ten times. Oh well SIGH picture at right!

Yes, I just love my brand new, unofficial, Samus Aran measuring spoons. I use them every day, and, truth be told, I look forward to cooking more knowing I'll get to use them. Seriously.

Funny thing occurred to me. I realized that Samus is in her suit so much, it probably counts as being naked when she's out of it. She seems to always be in her suit. She never leaps off of 20 story trees into icy, freezing water without her suit, at least.

The only time she is out of her suit is when she sleeps. Or at least when she travels in her ship. OK, then. Compare that old serpent Lara Croft. If she were to be completely naked it would not even count as being naked in means of relativity for her. Samus Aran just has to remove her helmet and that's swimsuit-level unclad for her. You remember how amazed you were when she took off her helmet in Metroid Prime.

...anyways, today we are having posole/pozole. Me and my brother. My mom and dad are having chicken and steak, respectively, with steamed zucchini and cauliflower. I also got a type of Santoku knife. It isn't too sharp, but luckily I know how to sharpen knives.

In Other News,
Today I ordered some shirts (three of them), and also some shoes; the shoes are from Zappos.com. They have free shipping both ways, which is cool. I ordered the ones I was previously considering, the Deer Stag Times. They are dress-casual, which is what I want. I've never had a shoe which costs more than $20 (to be fair, these ones we got at a yard sale, and probably cost millions- they're "air Jordans," or somesuch). I don't wear shoes often, honestly, so it doesn't matter. But these ones are falling apart, and the left one makes my foot sit at an odd angle- which is not comfy!

So now I have around $80. The shirts were $85, the shoes were $67 (free shipping FTW!), and I wish I got some socks. I don't mind some socks we have, but some are better than others, and...well, there you have it. I will dip mine in some kind of purple dye when I find a good supply of them. They'll call me purple toe, and I will embrace the name.

James:
"Hellooo and welcome to The Arghbabble Hour with James and Hilson DeWeran!" (Dee-waYR-inn)
Hilson:
"Yes, and today we have a special guest. He will be joining us for a considerable portion of today's show."
James:
"He is going to share his discoveries on...of all subject matter...pee! You might have thought you knew all there was to know, but stay tuned, I think we're all about to learn something new."
Hilson:
"And around here, that's nothing new."
James:
"That's very true."
(James, Hilson, audience chuckles)

On Battery Power: A Kevinsky (fails to) Plot Post

Yes, it's battery power time. Which means...hold up, lemme lower the juice flow into this mad dog screen ya'wazz's.

Awright. It's a bit hard to see, but the battery will last longer. I always do lots of research for my posts; I would finish a post in about 25 minutes, but I do tons of fact-checking...usually 2.5 hours worth. Go figure.

So, my Mom and Dad got me a book by Tim LaHaye. Tim LaHaye I like. Jerry B. Jenkins...man, my left arm hurts. Hard to type kinda...anyways...Jerry B. Jenkins wrote the Left Behind series. I know HE wrote it because if Tim LaHaye would have wrote it, he would have called it Left BeHind.

If you don't get that joke, I suggest a reactive fusion reverse humorologist visit. Because most likely, you are stupid. Like, Tim LaHaye. The 'H' in LaHaye is capitalized. So the 'h' in Left Behind would be capitalized too if he got his way. Nevermind, you ruined it already. Just for that, I am going to drink a warm Sparkling Water. Eww, yuck. Here goes. You jerk.

Man. It's like sand paper. So ...what's the word...coarse. So coarse...so, the book is...

...here is a link to a Flash I made. All I really did was just type in what the book says. You know, like, on the back, and in the preface.

So, being presented with this (it had perforations so they could tear it out easily, and the back panel was one big sticker that could be removed, revealing an inspirational message!), I wasn't quite sure just what to think. It seems my parents followed the advice, too.

"Wow Kev, we are certainly sorry we had to go to get kidney-stone dissolvants due to the goat which has 'sand' stuck in there! We care about you very much!"

I'm like, I was JUST half-way through reading the last bit there.

"Yes, you are a great son- that is most definitely for sure!"

Then I started going along with it. Now I am the one who holds the cards. Mwahah--- AWW MAN! I didn't get any plotting done! Sheesh. I'm gonna have nightmares now. Aw man, it's even midnight- the night of midness which is the ripest for formulationating bad dreams. However, I have good ideas in dreams. Like that one store. Coolest convenience store-slash-cafe ever.

...I sure do wish I got a chance to plot. I'm too tired now...I spent five-and-a-half hours on this post. You should check out GodTube.com, it's like YouTube, but Christian. Not quite sure how they'll keep the kuffars off of it...a kuffar is an unbeliever. That's what Muslims call them. Kuffa, kaffur, they aren't sure how to spell it. So, a kuffar (coo-far) is an unbeliever in (muslim).

Remember earlier I said they (parents) had to go get a kidney-stone dissolvant? Well, it's for our herd buck. He is the one who gets the does pregnant when we want them to start producing milk again. He had uhh...well...he...can't really perform his duty. At this time.

Also, he cannot pee. He will die tomorrow, and I will dig his grave. Also, I will drag him to it, and throw him into it, and cover him up.

He could be dead right now, I don't know...poor guy. If I was a real evil bastard, I would go out there and pee next to his pen just to (snickering) "piss" him off. (rolls over laughing)

Hey, I just discovered it was April Fools day. Weird, I didn't get pranked. Or maybe the book WAS the prank. Or maybe the buck is really alright, and God was just playing a prank on us. Hmm.

...I am shoe-shopping online. I want some classical, lame-looking shoes. They have to be leather and look kind of dressy. I think I have my sights on a certain pair...you see, my feet, they're like, size 14. I am actually wearing size 16's at the moment (they fit well, but are falling apart, and I don't like them). I have had these for ...like, three years. Got them at a yard sale...they're like... eww, they're basketball shoes. I ...ew. Basketball, football, hockey...now, Curling, there is where it's at. Awesome. However I still would not waste my life on curling. I prefer to waste my life doing nothing really.

Goodnight, tomorrow we see if the buck lives or not. I bet I will have to shoot him...damn ... shoot ... goat. I think I might watch Resident Evil tomorrow. I will take notes and report back...if I do watch Resident Evil, that is. Busy busy busy day...

Kevinsky spent six hours, twenty minutes preparing this post, and did not rely on battery power, and did not get any plotting done.

100th Post

*four baloons fall from ceiling*

Woooooo! 48 days later I am at 100 posts. Here is the link to my 50th Post post! Ahaha, yes yes, thank you all, no no, thank you, oh, you're too kind. Too kind, thank you, thank you. Please, please, I mean, I didn't really... no I couldn't, well if you insist, I guess I could try to think of some kind of a speech.

Well...it's been a, it's been a long journey, I will tell you that. Oh, oh we've had our good times, but friends, we've also had our bad. We've stumbled through the hard times, and melted through the soft, butter-like times, but one thing remains: We stayed together through, and against, all odds!

Now, I may not have a mouse, but I have a dream, and I have a laptop pointing device, better known as a touchpad. Yes, I have a dream. My dream? Well, my dream is to rule the world. By that I mean that my dream is to make Flash animations. Yes, the style appeals to me. Oh, the road will be wet and slippery, I can guarantee it.

I will tell you right now, brothers and sisters, and grandparents, it will be uphill. But it will also be downhill alot, and we'll make up for the time lost due to the uphill parts, as the downhill bits are slippery and wet as well!

So no matter what happens, no matter how much heartache I go through, know this: We will never surrender. We will...never give up... and never surrender. We will never stop fighting, and we will never quit. We will never give up the fight, and we will never retreat. We will never withdraw from glorious battle against those who would wish us harm. Woe unto my enemies, those who would dare to oppose me, to stand in opposition to my noble cause! To OUR ideals!

WOE UNTO THEM, who find themselves under the scope of my fury, their deeds shall not escape silently! They shall beg for death in that hour, and, indeed, justice shall be dispersed on all who are worthy of the punishment! MY PEOPLE, ...

Uhh...yeah. I'll tell you what, for this post, I will go finish the Flash animation I am making for my Mom...lalal ... some more time...three hours or something have passed I think. Whew.

HERE IS THE LINK TO MY FIRST EVER COMPLETED FLASH!

You probably had no idea. I mean, I wouldn't even guess it.

But apparently I am a hacker. I talked to my Granny today, I think she agrees... here is the end frame.

What a message to end a celebratory 100th post with...also, I still can't sit down comfortably.

Actually, I don't think I'm a hacker. But the facts...the facts prove me wrong...curse the facts. See you next mission...

Heh heh heh.

I have a certain disdain for the word 'heh'. It just seems disrespectful to me...to you, maybe it would be like me saying "wahaha!" whilst jumping about. Maybe, flailing my arms, in the manner of, say, a chimp of some sort. Yes, difenatilie. Maybe not. Either way, "heh heh heh" is fine to me, as it's a type of sinister, or, dare I say it, evil laugh.

Or, God forbid, (evil) CHUCKLE! And chuckle is only one letter away from CHUCKLES, and Chuckles was one bad parakeet. *shudders*. Chuckles could talk. Like a parrot. He drove people insane. See artist's rendition of Chuckles, at right.

"YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" They'd exclaim. "STOP IT! NO! YOU'RE NOT A PARROT! N-NUH GET'AWAY!" (Chuckles was not getting closer to them in any way.)...they eventually had to move Chuckles to a building surrounded by water, so that when people jumped out to 'end their suffering,' they'd land in the water.

The water was kept at like 50 degrees, which took their mind off of Chuckles. One remedy to Chuckles Syndrome was convincing the patients that they heard the voice in their own head. It was easier for them to deal with that, rather than that a parakeet can talk. Shame really.

Chuckles was known to wear a lab coat and sunglasses, not necessarily at the same time. He also had many followers, much like...what's that one dude's name...Nostradamus. Chuckles died peacefully of natural causes, after a lifetime of eating many crackers including flour less (for passover!), fruit crackers, and crepe crackers. He loved those crepe crackers. He liked them with a side of cream and some apricot hearts. Yes, for Chuckles, apricot trees gave up their richest fruit. Rest in peace, Chuckles. Rest in peace burd.

So anyways, now that I've honored Chuckle's memory, onto the main topic of the post.

I should have called the post "Blowgun." Yes, all beware, I am arming myself for the revolution to hunt birds. Heh, heh, heh. Okay, well, there aren't really any birds around here...but uh......I suppose there IS a purpose to having a blowgun. What if I ever want to kill a squirrel, or hunt bunnies next door? Or...what if there's a killer snake outside, and I have to put a dart in it's face?!?! OR A WEREWOLF!

I can't shoot a werewolf in the brain with a dart if I don't have a DDS (dart deliver system)! Sheesh! Moron. So I'm going to order the Bunker Buster purple swirl color model. I like the color purple when swirled with black, what can I say. Also, I like the classicality of it. I am a classic person. Not the music though the music sucks.

$27.00: One Bunker Buster Blowgun in purple swirl, 36" two-piece model
$3.00: A plastic handle grip
$2.00: 10 Stinger darts
$4.50: 100 paint balls (assorted colors)

I also ordered a few more things, but for your safety as well as mine, and my ability to live lawfully under the laws of the Arizona law book thing, (courthouse) I will not mention them here. It was not pepper spray, and was not a telescopic baton. Just you know, so you can stop thinking it is both of those things. That I mentioned. The pepper spray and telescopic baton. Was not those.

I ordered it under my alias name, "Kevinsky Stewartsky." They'll never know who I am, as I slowly submerse myself inside my cloak of indiscernity, much like an alligator sinks into a pond to await its prey. Hehehe.

So yeah, my Dad will have some surprises waiting for him when he gets back. I'll have like, forty birds shot dead. I don't consider myself a killer. I consider myself a hunter. I kill animals. I wouldn't hurt a fly either. I've killed three birds in my entire life. I've killed five turkeys. I don't consider myself cruel. Let's stick with that one...

I'll update you on my progress. I will have to use my Mom's car tires as practice, so...well, she'll update you on my progress, too.

Song of the Day is Great Is Thy Faithfulness by the Newsboys, on their Adoration: The Worship Album CD. Me and my Mom have the same number of posts for 2007. We'll see who wins it in '08. This post took me three hours. Aren't I the fastest typer ever?

Shrimp Gumbo

You've heard the rumors, the whispers, and the so-called factual secrets, but now you're hearing it straight from the horses mouth! Step on up, boys and girls! Don't be shy, or we'll seek you out and beat you! That's right, what's your name, child?!

Oh really?!?! I had a dog named that once! Yes I shot him! He got one good one in on me before he went though! Right through my pinkie toe! CHOMP! AHhahhah, anyways, let me tell you a tale of Gumbo!

...actually, there's not much to tell. So I will stop talking like a circus attraction
announcer now.

I commented and voted (like I said, I am now a Part!), and raised the overall rating from 4 to 5 stars. Somebody rated it a 1 and said it wasn't real Gumbo out of, most likely, anger and pent-up anger (more of it) towards Alton Brown and his flying machines. Consarned flying machines...

Out of respect for Alton Brown, wielder of the Culinary Triforce of Courage, I will post the link to the recipe in the stead of recreating it here. Here is the link!

hehe. Get it, link? Here is the link? Like, link, as in Link? From the Legend of Zelda? Yeah! Hey, would Alton's token nutritional anthropologist be his Zelda? Get it? She would be the wielder of the Triforce of Wisdom, right? Yeah. And Hand would be his Navi! Oh, my goodness, so much parodying, so little skill!

Song of the Day is Woohoo by (the) Newsboys. My Mom started a SOTD (Song of the Day) on her blog today. What she doesn't realize is that I started out slow on my SOTD's, too. Also, that I have the decency and courtesy, not to mention respect to my fellow human beings, to put the song of the day at or near the bottom, not randomly embedded in the middle of a post. That's a very shameful way of getting people to read your blog, and you should be ashamed of yourself, Mother. Feel the raw shame of being shamed on by your son. Shame on you. Shaahayhayhayhaame.

I'm off to eat some of the Gumbo. Have a good night. The Gumbo is really fantastic. I add like, one and a quarter pounds of sausage though. Non-paper, non-computer progress continues to be made on TA. Sometime soon I need to backup my hard drive...more on that laters.

Kev and the Computer Mouse

That Dead Rat Again

On the brother front, today he heated up some dip in one pan, then transferred it to another pan to eat out of. He used a slotted spatula and fork. And a knife. He opened up a can of beans, added some already-shredded cheese, and heated it in a pan. Where does the knife come in?!

He used the counter as a stirring-utinsil rest. By that I mean the counter is covered in bean dip. All didn't go according to plan for him today, though. As he merrily messed up the kitchen, probably humming to himself, probably the theme to a classic anime I wish were still on but would never admit I've ever watched except under one context which I would still not readily or proudly admit to and especially would not admit that I would watch it if I had the chance, his rat died.

Actually, I'm pretty embarassed about anime. I don't know why. I think I might want to do anime-type animation, leaning more towards Avatar's more realistic type, and avoiding the giant-head-when-angry type. It's actually easier to draw than it seems...and it looks terrific. I think you'd need to frame-by-frame it, though. That'd be the real unrelenting challenge. Flash tag!

Back to the dead rat:
I resisted the urge to say "If only you had loved him more..." this time. He doesn't care much. If we can stand it, we won't be buying him any more rats...hey, I wonder if he'll stop delusionally knocking to go into his own room now? Or if he'll decide that the rats are still around in ghost-form. I need to sneak into his room and quiet his TV. It's so loud I can hear it from my room...I can hear it from the living room, too.

Ideally, I should order the Whistleblower magazine subscription, seeing's how it's on sale for 'totally cheap' ending tonight at 10 PM pacific time. Hmm.

Steak for dinner. Please God, may we have enough propane left for the grill. I will make, oh, I don't know, Spinach and Noodle Casserole as a side, I think. Oh yes. My poor, poor mother.

Hey, here's the recipe, courtesy of my Mom's website. I will post a link if she says it's OK.

Spinach Noodle Casserole

1 lb. extra-wide noodles
1 lb. package frozen spinach or 2 10 oz. box packages frozen spinach
8 ounces longhorn or cheddar cheese (you can use more if you like)
5 cups milk
1-10 tablespoons butter
10 tablespoons flour
salt to taste

Start water boiling for the noodles; if desired preheat oven to 350F.

Put the spinach in a pan and begin warming it, put in microwave according to the directions, or run hot water over it in a colander. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add flour and stir until combined, then while stirring constantly, slowly add the milk.

When the water for the noodles begins to boil, put in the noodles and cook for ten minutes. While the noodles are cooking grate the cheese (skip if already grated). Drain the spinach when it is done cooking.

When all ingredients are ready, butter or spray with non-stick cooking spray a glass casserole dish (you could also line with aluminum foil). Ladle about one cup of white sauce into the bottom of the dish. Then layer in one-fourth of the noodles, one-fourth of the spinach and 2 ounces of the shredded cheese, then another cup of white sauce, continuing with the layers until all ingredients are used up.

Turn the oven on to 350F (not necessary to preheat), cover the casserole dish with a lid, or aluminum foil (Kev prefers both!) and bake for 30-45 minutes. You can tell when the casserole is done when the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbling.

My Mom's commentary: "If you are in a real hurry, you can toss all the ingredients together and mix. But I really recommend trying it first baked in the oven. This was my very favorite meal as a child and remains one of my favorite comfort foods. The recipe comes from my paternal grandmother."

Thanks, Mom's Paternal Grandmother, and Mom for preserving the recipe. Enjoy the recipe, which my Mom should post on her blog most assuredly!

Song of the Day is Baruch Hashem, 'cause it's got Jew-words in it. By the Reach Out Singers, composed by the late Zola Levitt peacebeuponhim.

I wonder if Zola would find that a funny joke...

In Other News--Ask a Ninja, Turok 3 update, Animal update

Edited and updated Thursday, May 10th, 2007
Edited and updated Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Ask A Ninja

Click on "Episodes" and go to last page-- to episode one, of course!

I just found it yesterday, but so far it's hilarious. It's a Ninja who answers questions viewers send in, like "What do I need to do to become a Ninja?" to which Ninja responds, among other requirements, you must start your training at the age of six weeks. Also walking through a blizzard without getting any snow on you.

It's up to like 33 episodes, and I watched up to #22 in one sitting. Hasn't made any uhh, "Last And Current Season Fox Sunday Night Lineup"-type jokes. You know, the dirty ones that are uncalled for and not funny at all.

The first episode was probably the best so far, just because of how he acted- it reminds me of the show I film: Country Cookin' with Sticky-D. It's got a crazy guy, too. My Dad stars...but it's not quite as funny (although I might be able to edit it and "concentrate" it). Anyways, the first episode of Country Cookin', Sticky (his name is Sticky, Sticky-D) acted a little psycho. Then the next he was little more, pretty soon he was mopping the table with a mop he just used to mop the ground, which is dirt.

So, the guy grew into his role and his role, Ninja, became more psychotic. I guess that's how it goes when you just wing stuff. I suggest watching it. If you send him a question, he'll read it, and if he likes it, he'll enjoy killing you. If you send him a letter and he doesn't like it, he won't enjoy killing you. Apparently, he'll still kill you.

Poor Kev. It seems Turok is not his cup of tea.

Gonna finish Paper Mario: TTYD soon. I kinda took a break from it right before the final boss.

Update: Still haven't finished Paper Mario. I am in the ROOM BEFORE THE BOSS. What a loser right? I mean, I will trample him when I face him. It. Thing.

I'm actually doing some "research" on the N64 right now. I'm playing Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. You might know me a bit, and if you do, you'll compute these two things:

Kev + Turok

And form a comment. It might be "rofl, Kev playing a Turok game" or "Kev is allowed to play M games?". I'm a sissy, I'll admit it. I have a condition; it's called HSP, or (being a) Highly Sensitive Person.

"A highly sensitive person (HSP) processes sensory data exceptionally deeply and thoroughly due to a biological difference in their nervous system. Dr. Elaine N. Aron's (points for being close to "Aran"!) extensive research identified this as a specific trait with key consequences that was being confused with innate shyness, inhibitedness, innate fearfulness, introversion, fear of Turok 3 video games, etc."

Sometimes HSP effects people's driving- doesn't really happen with me, except for the mild "risk-taking" part. In-game, I have alot of trouble managing ammunition and weaponry. I also put myself into the character's shoes too much. Not sure why. So I have trouble playing games like the Turok series- less so though for Turok: Evolution; that might as well of had soldiers as the enemy. That game did have awesome levels, though. Note I have not beaten any Turok games without cheats. It's too stressful for me...gonna try on Turok 3 though.

Scary movies are fine with me, as I said, it's not the "scary" part, it's the 'immersing myself in it' part. I mildly fear for my life at times, and that's a bad experience, as they say, a pint's a pound the world around (except for nuts). Speaking of nuts, I heard a rumor I might have some Peanut Brittle tonight. "Exploding toilets? That's retarded!"

I didn't have a save pak in, and I had to go decide what to make for dinner an hour ago, and I'm having a bit of trouble breathing. Actually, I think I might not of been breathing properly when I was playing. Every 20 seconds: INHALE. 40 seconds later: EXHALE. 20 seconds later: BLINK and INHALE. Repeat. Every three repeat cycles: HEART BEAT 40 TIMES. I think my eyes might have been bleeding. And I only encountered two monsters, and that mind-wrackingly terrifying DOOR.

I played Turok 2: Seeds of Evil when I was like, 11. Tell me you wouldn't have a phobia of all things Turok and Scary. It's just some monster-guards. Normal guards don't scare me. Space pirates don't scare me. I think what it is, is the difficulty in engaging enemies. It's hard to hit them, and it never seems I have enough ammo.

What does it say about me if I chose Danielle?

That it's required for my "research", is what! Shut up! Back off!

Two Less Mouths to Feed and Ignoring the Chickens

The cow that's been giving us trouble, #13, whose grave I am going to frequent when I've consumed too many liquids, was sent to the slaughter yesterday. Poor jerk of a cow. Also, another animal that I despise, Bambi Jr., went off to slaughter. We sold him actually, for $60. You see, with him gone, we save $5-$7 a month. Woohoo! In a year, we'll have made an additional $72 off of his death. In 20 years, we'll have made over $1500 off of selling him! YAY!

We should be getting the meat from #13 back in roughly two weeks. Gonna be great. No cookouts, though; we're saving every bit we can for ourselves. I've been craving a good steak lately, too. They're going to let the meat hang for two weeks. It'll grow (coughthemeatwillrotcough) about half an inch of green matter on it in that time, which they'll scrape off. That makes the meat tender I guess. And rotten.

Update: They couldn't let her hang for two weeks, only one, due to how lean the meat was. Will be different for Brownie and Blackie.

I set up an automatic turkey feeder- a fancy "bucket" that holds 40 pounds of food. It's metal, and is a 9" (all measurements estimated) round tube about 2.5 feet tall, suspended over a "pie pan" that's 14" around. The food goes to the edges of the "pie pan" and stops falling. Then the chickens eat it, and it falls some more. They can last three days with it, and the Bucks can last three days with their water, so I'm not going in there for three days.

We haven't had one chicken egg for 3+ weeks now, so I won't be wasting my time until it heats up. Damn chickens. Let 'em starve. I mean, be automatically fed.

Off to clean the kitchen. Farewell. I don't know if I'll be making dinner tonight, as I can't make what I want to make, as we have no eggs.

That can't be right. I'm going to double-check that...

Song of the Day is 'Go' by Newsboys. Go is their bestest album 3v4|2.

"Gonna send you out, one by one. If I need it sung, can you sing it loud? Gonna send you out, two by two, outta the Ark into the wild blue. Gonna come along, by your side- send along my Spirit guide. I'm gonna show you Miracles. Cover the earth, Make desciples."

The Flash tag wasn't a mistake. Boy it's hot in here. Whew.

It's been a long week

It's been about a week, right? Uhh, it counts as a 'long' week because it's been eight days. Yay. You see, that makes the title both witty and true!

It's a long post, a weeks worth, plus babbling.

To start off, about five days ago I ordered some CDs. I ordered 'Go', 'Adoration: The Worship Album', 'Going Public', and 'Devotion', all by by Newsboys. And I got 'Welcome to Diverse City' by Tobymac.
My mom got 'Brave' by Nichole Nordeman.

So far, they're all here except Go. The one I want most. Hah...anyways, Welcome to Diverse City seems to be our favorite, and the others aren't really ranking yet, as we have only listened to one or two songs. We got them off of Half.com, so the total for all six was like $45. Smooth.

I've neglected to mention this, but my Dad is in jail. Pwnt huh? It was for DUI 10 or 11 years ago. He got out on probation, then comitted probation violation...he's been on the Lamb since. Haha! Get it?! It was a pun! On the Lamb! Get it?...okay. So he quit drinking shortly after. One day he was listening to a station he never listened to. They talked about an Arizona Safe Surrender. Basically, they have you come in, give you a false sense of security, then beat you down the next day. Basically.

He then swithed the station to another he never listens to- K-love. 105.5 to be exact. They're positive and encouraging (or else)...and he was promptly bombarded with songs like "You will lead, I will follow," "I'll Trust You, Lord," "Take the leap of Faith," "Don't worry about tomorrow." His words: "I was like: Alright, I get it already!"

So, the following Monday, he turned himself in. We didn't expect the arrest. It just never occured to us. God blinded us. I liken it to being blindfolded, then shoved off a cliff. Backwards. And there is a freeway at the bottom of the cliff you're falling into. With nothing but 18-wheelers on it. Going really fast.

We got a real tough judge. A Woman judge.

Now, if there's one thing I've learned from Samus Aran, it's that woman can be unrealistically destructive. So I had no doubt whenever I heard the rumors of the judge. "Oh, one time, she sentenced someone to death for running to try and catch a bus. In china. So just imagine what she can do in her own country and state!"

My mom woke up at 12:30 AM and hired a Lawyer. God must have told her to, because we got like, their best lawyer. It costed $2,500. She was a woman lawyer too. Samus also taught me that women can convince things to do things by pure, raw force. You know, like die.

Speaking of Ms. Aran
. Oh baby. /drool

Just incase you're scared, which I might be in a case such as this, it's just a statue. A suited statue. I reiterate, oh baby.

I can't believe the $99 price tag seems low...Ah, curses! Where would I even put it. Pff, we all know. Right next to my dead 'cube. I would make a trophy case.

So the lawyer needed stuff, character witnesses, stuff like that, etcetera, on and on blah blah I won't bore you with the details. They wanted to give him 2.5 years, I think. He got three months and three years probation. God really blessed us with that sentence. He's currently a month into his sentence. My mom has a counter on her blog. 58 days to go!

To make things even better, he's out on Work Furlough right now. That means he gets to work a job but has to go back to the jail every day. We can have lunch with him if we play our cards right. That makes things easier, plus he can use my cellphone, and we won't have to pay the outrageous $500 phone bills. That's right, our phone bill was over $500. Jails' phones are mean to wallets...Praise God we could afford to stuff them on the credit card until we can make up the cash. It woulda sucked not being able to talk to him.

So anyways, we went on a few trips into the big city this week. We were helping my dad look for a job. It was kinda boring, but it was worth it to spend a few hours with him. Lots of waiting in the car, though. I've been thinking of getting a DS Lite recently, but I'm not sure. That woulda been the perfect opportunity to 'rent' one from 'Walmart' and 'test it out.' I guess New Super Mario Brothers would have been the game of choice. Rumors are the DS is as much fun as the Wii. I am a scoffer.

I'm listening to Newsboys' album Going Public. I wish my mom didn't have Adoration and Shine with her in the car. Curses!!!

So, there's something else I've not revealed yet on the blog. I really like blogging. Not just blogging, but computer stuff in general. I mean, typing, creating. You know what I mean...it helps me to express my artistic side, I guess. Plus, I don't have any friends that play videogames, and I make a point of not talking to people online. More on that much later.

Also, I want to do Flash animations. Ever since I first saw a Flash animation, and it was probably, oh, let's see...I don't know, back in '02. I thought Flash was some real crazy thing that only the elite could do. Then recently I expressed my dream of doing Flash animations to my mom and she gave me a copy of Flash.

I'm not entirely sure if this is a good version of Flash I'm using. I think I need one higher for it to be of any use, and preferably I'd want to get one of the newer versions...I should start saving, right? It's Flash MX 2003. I think I want a version of Professional...couldn't cost too much.

Man, that drawing of FN is dead-on for how she looks. I don't know how I managed that. Eyebrows a little smaller, and it'll be perfect. And better hair. That works for the first draft though. Ownage.
I got a name for her, by the way. Nessa; it means "Miracle" in hebrew. Before I knew it meant that I was strongly considering it, then I found out and it sealed the deal. Others are Jamie and Dan. She'll mostly be called "Ness" 'cause Nessa is too long. You'll find out more later maybe. I'm real greedy with my secrets and plots though. Should she be a jew? I don't think so. Then she would own too much. Then again.

I'm somewhat obsessed with this Flash idea. TA, for "Team A...something." They don't know, as their superior won't tell them. I can spend hours a day thinking up scenarios to throw them into. I don't plan to start production for at least a year. At least. I need to make a rough draft thing, then work on the script, and I'm planning to get books on Anatomy.

......you know, like Action Anatomy: For Gamers, Animators, and Digital Artists and Animal Drawing: Anatomy and Action for Artists. The animal drawing is so that I can hopefully gleam some idea of how to draw the heavies in the Flash. The Action Anatomy is so that, well, have you ever seen a chick jumping around beating people senseless? Of course-- we've all watched Kim Possible. How does she do it? Well, she throws people. Somehow...she manages to...some...how...well, anything's possible when you're a Possible, right?

I think I have an idea for how Ness will be throwing things and people and taking punches and jumping real high. And it isn't years of being a cheerleader...but it's very important to understand how people move, and have a reference. I hope the book works out. Can you believe I have to invent a monster? I am going to be accused of copying Space Pirates, but in reality I'm copying the Mantids. Pwnt. The monster is original though...I guess......

Another book is Acting for Animators. I assume it teaches you how to act...or how people act. I need to know how to make slight gestures, as that will sometimes be Ness' main form of communication. You know how that girl in Monster House looked at that one dude when he discovered the house was a girl house? That sort of stuff. I haven't ordered any of these books yet, as I'm waiting on 'renting' a DS Lite (I may decide a DS isn't for me, not likely). Acting for Animators is tops on my list though.

So anyways, I'm really looking forward to learning to draw. Almost obsessively. But to draw I need a desk, and a tablet (for mountains, some hair, rough drafts of stuff, hand-drawn stuff, oh you get the idea), a mouse and, most importantly, a chair.

If I love all this stuff so much, why don't I do it, is the question. Well, the thing is, my legs hurt me when I sit down. Sometimes they don't, but oft-times they do. It makes it impossible to concentrate, and I can't really sit. This has been going on for 1-2 years, and it's what caused me to get this laptop. I can drive just fine though, for some reason. Hmm.

To draw, you can't use a laptop's touchpad (although I drew Nessa's face and the forest background and the checkerboard with it- it was a pain). You need at least a mouse, and if you wanna be any good a tablet for mountains and trees and stuff. To use a mouse or tablet, you need a desk, right? And a desk means you have to sit at the desk. Thus is my problem.

It was fine until recently, it started acting up again. Not only that, but the Wii is best played sitting upright, right?

So I can't really play the Wii right. Infact, alot of games are deminished in fun severely because I can't sit up if I want to (at least not for long). And typing is harder because, well, you're supposed to sit at a desk for maximum comfort.

If I can't play the Wii comfortably, well, that means I won't be able to play Metroid Prime 3 comfortably, and that isn't going to fly, Napolean, just like your idea for the rocket sword.

My mom has been trying to convince me I should see a doctor for a while...I was of course skeptical. My skepticism proved correct, as the doctor had to send me to another doctor, a dermatologist, in Phoenix. Okay, mostly proved correct.

It was a...you guessed it, a woman doctor. I don't fear women. I would say it's more of a healthy respect, such as fire. I'm haunted by them, though. If I had a poltergeist in my house, it would be a chick poltergeist. If I ever get hit by a car, it will have been driven by a chick. Believe it.

So she thinks she's identified the cause. It's some sort of skin disease. She says it's somewhat common, and once you have it, you have it. It causes inflammation of the legs, and that's what is causing the pain. She also says that it acts up this time of year. She needed to take skin samples to confirm it though.

Yeah, gonna scrape some skin off, right? Hehe, Doc, stop looking at me like that. Heh. Stop it. "Listen, Kev, we've gonna need to take a 4 mm round out of your flesh. Two of them." What?! I didn't sign up for this! NOO! MOMMY! DON'T SIGN THE PAPERS! NOOOOOOOOO!

So she went out of the room, then an assistant came in with two needles, alcohol, scissors, tweezers (BIG ONES!), another pair of scissors, several blood-absorbing napkins, two bottles of some sort of fluid that preserves flesh, and a bit.

She told me to bite down hard and it'll help the pain. Now I need to see a dentist. Haha! Get it? A bit?

So she shot me up with some tranquilizers, and before I knew it I had some maaad blurred vision, and every time I would breath I would hear it echo. That's another joke. You know, like when, in Perfect Dark, you get shot with a tranquilizer gun and it makes your screen blurry. It's a joke. Like the part about the bit.

Then, and I didn't watch, she took two rounds out of my flesh. A quarter inch deep. See, no-one told me that. And 4mm is, apparently, 1/8th of an inch around. Ouch. Afterwards, I was in stitches! AHAHHAHAHahh1!11
Oh boy, whew. *wipes tear from eye*

Seriously though, they gave me a stitch in each hole. It looks so creepy, all red and inflamish and black thread looking like a bug of some sort. I accused her of implanting me with a bug, it looks so much like antennae. I feel so creeped out by having been sewed up. Invasive, minor surgery is what it is! She then put tape over the stiching. It is falling off, so I asked my Mom to pick some up for me. Until then, I have to pile as many germs as I can into it. Wish me luck.

The results will be back in ten days, and I'm scheduled to see her again in two weeks. If it is in fact what she thought (roughly, a form of psoriasis), it should be as simple as treating it to stop the inflammation. You have to take the meds forever, though. We'll see about that.

But if that's the case, I'll be able to finally work on my drawing skills. It seems simple. I mean, look at how great Nessa's face turned out, and that was when I barely knew anything about drawing, except that eyes are bigger for girls, and left and right eyes/eyebrows/ears usually look the exact same. I need a book on drawing hair. I bet a book like The Complete Idiot's Guide to Drawing Manga, Illustrated would do nicely.

Man, 'Elle G.' by Newsboys is sad...tear sad, not 'lame-attempt' sad. Note: Any songs like "Sarah," named after someone are usually going to be real sad and involve a suicide or two. Ohh, man, this song is going to be PERFECT for one scene in TA. And I mean it. Absolutely perfect. But I won't ruin it for you, or me.
"Silence all, Nobody breathe." Aww-yeah, that's what I, personally, call fitting a song to a scene. Except it's 5 minutes long. I can do a five-minute scene though. Horribly rushed...or desperately long. Then again, time goes by faster than it seems it does, and I can do slow-motion, or just have all the cops get slaughtered.

...then again, I think I've pretty much ruled out the possibilities of Ness being a...ah...I'm certain there's a word for it. It's when you're addicted to killing. I don't think she will be. At first, she wasn't going to kill at all, but there's no functionality in that. I think, just not "ruthless" killing.

Like Superman. He's useless. Can't do anything because he's afraid of killing people--what it boils down to, is that he is 'killing' anyone who is killed by someone he should have killed. Right? Right.

I just don't know yet if the scene will be as sad as I'm thinking it will be. It'll all depend on the VA (Voice Actor)'s ability to relay sorrow and fear to the ears of listening viewers. And how sad it can be without being an overreaction.

I'm kind of stressed out about the whole idea, too. It's alot to do for absolutely no payoff. Except for chasing my dream.

...That's kind of a nice payoff, though.

Song of the day is "TruDog, The Return." By TobyMac. Simply because the ending is so damn cute. "Yay!"

Oh, also, I got to meet two prostitutes. And I got to see a drug deal go down, and almost got dealt some dope myself. All whilst my Mom was conducting some 'business' inside a shady, stucco'd house that belongs to a "Mr. Gonzales."

The creepiest thing was that, well, that was the only time I've ever smelled perfume that didn't smell like complete crap. That's well, that's creepy, right?

Goodnight. I'uh sha-yall howie homies make peekin pighs up'n hee' tmarrah dahyawg. I mean, 'I'll show you how to make a Pecan Pie tomorrow.' Sorry.
