ION--- Water, 2 Packages, Metroid, Metroid

So while getting water today, I discovered that two of the things which I ordered came. I fondled the ...I'll use the word, "manilla envelopes" here...and could tell they were a DVD and a GBA game. I guessed on the GBA game; they come in an old-school box (I learned this upon seeing it) like all good old-school cartridges.Cardboard box though! So, I opened up the first package. A DVD- in fact, Braveheart. I will watch that tonight, I think. I think it's like 5 hours long though...oh well.

The game, was none other than Metroid: Zero Mission! Oh boy! I opened it up with loving, adoring, caring, loving hands, much as I assume God handled Adam when he knocked him out, and opened him up, and "borrowed" his rib. Adam got a wife out of it. Me? I got a game. A Metroid game. Much better than a wife. Of course, Metroid games didn't exist way back, so I guess a wife was comparatively great back then.

This will be the first Metroid game I've ever played which was developed by Nintendo. Metroid Prime (the entire trilogy, excluding Hunters) was developed by Retro Studios, which has done a fabulous job. You can just tell they're fans. Like, when Acclaim brought Turok to the next gen (Turok: Evolution)? Totally not fans. Even though they, you know, made the last gen of Turok games. Quite literally.

I do want to play the Metroid game, and I really want to get my hands on that DS again (I haven't played it for a bit, and I crave the freedom), but that's special. I can't just... decide to play a Metroid game. There's ceremonies. There's accolades, awards to be handed out on both sides of the fence. Appointments to be made- both pertaining to rank, and to high-level meetings...there's the fact that my parents will be home for what seems like forever.

And also, I enjoy making memories. Such as having Pizza a few times when playing Twilight Princess- next year, I'll have pizza again (and play the mouth-watering, Zelda-filled first-party Nintendo game) just for the sheer nostalgia of it. We get it from a local restaurant, and from a local Bashas. They are good in different ways.

...also, I am planning to finish Turok 2 this weekend. ROFL, yeah right. I am hoping to get level 3 and 5 monsters photographed over the weekend though...and maybe a Raptoid from level 1 if it's convenient.

On the water front, today I got 3 loads of water for us, and my Dad installed the wheel on the gate (5 days ago) making it really really alot easier (shh). I will remove it next winter. Oh, boy.

I got one load of 500 for the Thirsty Wolf, and then another of 250. I got paid, $20. I will let you know how Braveheart turns out, if I watch it. I have trouble grasping how fast Metroid: Zero Mission arrived. I wonder if I'll like 2D Metroid games. God, please let me like 2D Metroid games.

I was gonna make that the last paragraph, but I really wanna say one more thing!

That was gonna be the last one too. But, I'll finally be able to tell people, "yeah, Metroid Prime totally caught the atmosphere of the 2D games more than Echoes. Totally. Rad. Tayo." Those will be the days!!!

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil: Level 4

I accidentally skipped level 3. I have 3 levels to go; the last one scares me a good bit.

I have never liked this level- even though, design-wise, it's pretty good. Truth be told, I was stupid when I was 11 and played Turok. When I would come to an area I could not easily traverse (keep in mind, with full cheats, I didn't need ANY keys AT ALL, I had them all, so no "worthless" exploring around), I just warped to the next level, or to the level boss, or totem (I don't think there was a totem warp actually).

I do believe this level took me 5.5 hours of game time. My game time meter probably reads close to 12 hours now. That is twice the time Turok 3 took me, and I'm only, at best, 45% through. Turok 2 is too long. Turok 3 is too short. Gotta be a middleground- maybe it's Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, I'll see.

...of course, 5.5 hours is just what the game logged. It is much closer to 10- 13 hours for this one level. Why? I backtracked. Or, had to backtrack. Alot. Like 5 hours worth. In the end, I had to use a guide to find one area (total no-brainer, too, I just missed the path as it was camoflauged, it's one of those hit-or-miss things.)

Turok Level 4 Spoilers!

The level is introduced by Adon in her special way of repeating the level name. "Lair of the Blind Ones- Lair of the Blind Ones. Many is said about" she rails; how wonderful. I will for my entire life remember her level introductions. So anyways, she explains that they come to the surface at night, and drag people down and eat them! EWW!
\
"I really stepped in it this time!" I thought silently. The Blind Ones are not really too blind. They can hear the heart beat of a human being, even. There are plenty of spiders (BIG ONES TOO!!), as well as...goblins. The goblins are crappy, as they take TWO Shredder (upgraded shotgun!) shots to put down, and shoot slime at you. They walk on their hands. I don't like them. I thank God every time I turn a corner (okay, not THAT often) that they don't respawn.

They are about 2 feet tall.

...HERE IS THE LINK! (Kev talking to Adon after level 4.)

I just like it because I sound so haggered, and I halfway ignore her. Hah, take that, thou blue-skinned woman. My voice sounds a bit strained at first, keep in mind I was just in a puddle of slime with slimy things coming out of it, and a giant eyeball tried to kill me (it's Metroid Prime: Hunters all over again!). Sorry the song sounds so "ear-cuttingly sharp." The recorder does have a microphone jack, I should use it next time, and also not play music.

Soo. No more falling off-topic. Actually, I am going to remove the uneccessary bits. This is a review, not a post.

The Blind Ones are cyclops-type monsters. They are anthropomorphic, which means human-like. Such as a robot, like the Terminator. He is anthropomorphic, not just bipedal, as in, he is like a human, with two legs and two arm. The power ranger's zord is anthropomorphic, and so is the alien in Predator. The aliens in the Alien series are not anthropomorphic (to my knowledge).

They walk around wearing pants. Like they own the place. Like they ... eat rocks. The ... pant wearing ...no shoes though. If they did, they wouldn't wear socks. The freaks.

As far as I could see, none of them had breasts. So I assume I did not murder any female monsters. Just thought I'd...y'know, throw that in there...so, at right is a picture of the less-dangerous kind which uses melee/grenade attacks, apparently called a Sentinel.

He carries a blade not a little like a Sentinel flesh eater/spawn of oblivion. He uses it just like him, too. Face it, kids, he is a cross-dressing flesh eater (he doesn't do cartwheels though :). I was using a scoped weapon, the compound (in the series it's called "Tek") Bow. I was, as you may gather, spying on it...photographing it.

I did not get a good photo of him, but I was able to use my Mom's camera.

The next one is apparently called a Guardian. Sentinel means guard. I will call him, "Bowie Boy(boyz)." Heh heh heh. Here is a few photos of Bowie Boy. To the left he's going, "UH." To the right, he's saying, "Aaaah...I'm stupid..." Please ignore the targeting reticule about his ...well, crotch.

Next here, is a picture of him getting blown to the bottom pits of hell (conveniently, Blind One Hell is located in their lair; OK, well, fiery pits at least, he had a short trip!). Sorry. Enough making fun of this jerk. I despise Bowie Boy. Why? Because he has a bow. And it's crazy accurate, and does lots of damage- and you routinely get stuck in a room with them (or the equivalent of being stuck in a room with them). And there's really no way to fight them close-quarters- sorrowfully, they are weak enough to justify the accuracy. I just wish they took lots, lots longer to acquire the target (you).

Once again, a nice mix of enemies in this level, except for the goblins. I hate and despise them and I hate them as much as those accursed Baboons in Turok: Evolution. They sound more fearsome than the tyrannosaurus.

Poor guy got his head blown off his shoulders. I could honestly do without enemies exploding in said manner. Just not necessary. All the same, rest in cycloptic blind one hell, you meanie.

Next, here is a few pictures of the Fireborn. The Fireborn are, basically, Endtrails. Okay, let me put pics of the Endtrail I photographed from behind first, so you know what they are. They are part of the dinosoid horde, or genetically-engineered DEMONSAURS! LOL! Demonsaur. Nice. They are not actually demons, lol

In the up-left pic, he is standing there. Let me tell you this. Listen, dude, get this. Prepare to laugh. I was overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude and "wheew" when I remembered at the last second, AND TURNED OFF THE FLASH BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID HE WOULD SEE IT AND ATTACK. I AM COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY HONESTLY TELLING THE TRUTH.

I have to laugh at myself.

Hah.

Once more.

Hah.

Ah, I am still full of giggles. Once more.

Ahah hah.

ROFL. I can't believe I did that. I went "WHEW, that was close, he would'a seen me!" then it hit me- it's a video game! So, what's going on in that picture at the above-left is he's standing there (watching a path and waiting for me to cross that path, but I snuck up on him), then in the right one he is turning invisible- cloaking. That is the movement you see (they wave "goodbye!" before cloaking, rather goofily). The camera is bad, so it got several frames. It was the Home camera...the third pic he is cloaked. I then shot him several times, but I forget what with- I don't think I bored him to death. Get it, bored. Get ...ah never mind. He is in dinosaur hell now, just, y'know, so you know.

So, the Fireborn are just like the dinosoids' Endtrail. I do not know their story. But they live in lava. And are, well...born of fire. They throw grenades (I think, Lava-themed grenades) and, though they do not walk in the lava, Turok 3 proves they do in fact live in the lava. They claw good. One time, one was running up on me...and I put a Shredder round into him...and his body above his calves exploded/disappeared. His calves followed through then stopped and sat there. I wondered why they kept running. And how they stood.

At above left, is the bad camera. See all the frames? Yeesh. He looks like an Endtrail though. At the right, he is stuck in place by a "Charge Dart" round- or, being shocked and forceably stuck in place. So I could photograph him better. The charge dart shocking him is the electricity, he is normally red and black.

OK, enemy review is over. New weapons on this level,...well, okay, we'll have to do this another way. As I skipped level 3, I will only post the new weapons I would have gotten from this level- so not the Shredder, Plasma Rifle, or Grenade Launcher.

My favorite is the Charge Dart Rifle. It shocks the hell out of anything- I think even the Purlin. We'll see...so, it causes them to freeze in place for anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds (more or less). Ammunition packs come in 20, and it holds a maximum of 30. It is yellow, and looks cool. It shakes when you're charging it- pull the trigger, it launchers a weak beam, and one dart. Hold it longer and it goes to two darts, to three darts, and a beam which shocks enemies for 20+ seconds.

My favorite use for this is the Flesh Eaters- seriously, they become so easy to kill when they're immobilized. It also weakens things, probably as much as a shotgun...shot. A song I'm listening to just said "shot" as well. Apparently it's the word of the day.

The next favorite is the Harpoon Gun. It is fun to use! That's all; fun to use. Because I get to use it on leapers. It's a harpoon gun, used (only) underwater. The other new watergun (hah) is the Torpedo Launcher. It makes you move fast, but too fast considering you cannot stop speedily. Underwater of course. It also launches torpedoes, but you're always moving too fast. I like the harpoon gun more because it's...what's the word...efficient. Like the bow and arrow, but the ammo is actually worthy of being picked up.

The next is the Cerebral Bore. Why third when every other fanboy in everdom put it at 0 on their list, right before the #1 ranking weapon? Well, it would have gotten second- except that, two things. One, I ...huh. The song I am listening to just said one as well. Anyway, I do not like the cerebral experience. I don't mind it, either- but I don't drool over it. I do not have a mental problem which causes me to be turned on by graphic violence. There, I said it. Two, it isn't much use, as these enemies are too fast to waste time with such a slow weapon. I would LOVE the bore to randomly select targets- it could be a secondary mode...anyways...you know...you could send out three at a time. You could say, "Oh, then it'd get Turok." But the Bore gun could just as easily hold an "anti-beacon." The Cerebral Bore picks up on brain waves, then drills the brains out...just so you know. A longer travel time could have helped, but I guess it's OK.

The other two is the Flamethrower, which is CUT DOWN by lack of ammo (just enough to be used maybe once or twice in the level because you're never sure when you'll *really* need it) and the Sunfire Pod. The Flamethrower makes short work of most weak enemies. The Sunfire pods only work on the Blind Ones. They saved me more than once. Twice actually, once during the totem defense and once while facing those EIGHT DAMN BOWIE BOYZ. One drawback, not enough of them. They do not respawn...they're, understandably, precious. A foolish dolt could more-or-less ruin the level for himself if he used them all.

Overall, this is a great level. The level introduction was, once again, the best part of the level. HAHAHA!

Just so you know, I typed that in real time. I typed the "HAHAHA" part real fast. Am I strange? To end this post, I will define the difference between my Mom's camera and the Home camera. (She takes her camera to her job, it kinda belongs to them, but ...kinda. She's been using it so long, and shooting pictures for (technically) free for them for so long, she's probably paid for it by now).

What better way than posting Adon pics? She's so kind, standing still like that.

To the left is my Mom's camera. To the right, the Home camera. I want another camera, actually, lol. I think my money would be better spent on a webcam however, or a digital video camera. For some reason ... there is a patch of skin showing near...uhh...well, it's not just my copy of the game, either. I may post the post that Google messed up tomorrow; time for sleep! Yesterday I had a dream about Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, I was at the area with the sonic locks- where one of the keys is located- with the giant magnetic sphere in dark world- near the save spot...I could go on. Oh, how I love Metroid Prime 2.

Long. Post.

Eragon

My oh my.

You know it isn't gonna be good when I begin with the words, "My oh my."

I watched Eragon on the 27th (to be fair, several times since). I really liked the movie, but there were some big problems. To begin with, the main protagonist, Eragon, reminds me too much of the main protagonist in A Knight's Tale, Sir Ulrich von Liechtenstein/William Thatcher. They both have the same hair, and they both sound almost -exactly- the same. They also both make the same expressions. They seem to dress alike. Why don't they just get a room already?

On the plus side, the dragon, Saphira (a chick dragon), looked awesome. I didn't know they were this advanced with their, CGI, or CJayC's, or what-not. The dragon's voice had a chance, as the voice actor seemed skilled enough, to be really awesome. However, only some of her lines sounded very good. I don't quite know why that is. It seems, as it's telepathic, that her voice needs to be a bit monotonic. Maybe the VA was sick a few days or something, thus the awesome lines?

There was a SEVERE, HORRIFYINGLY SORRY SENSE OF TIME PASSAGE. It's five days journey to this one place...and you just can't tell it's been five days. They did HORRIBLE in the sense of time passage. HORRIFYINGLY, the King's armies somehow amass outside the rebellions' fortress ABOUT TEN MINUTES AFTER THE ORDER IS RECEIVED TO GO.

It would be totally fine if the King's #2 man, a Shade, which they take the time to explain is a sorcerer, warped them there. If they can take the time to explain a Shade is a sorcerer, they could take the time to confirm that warping...or if it was 5 days walk, and like 10 minutes by horse.

There is a scene where Saphira says "there was never a horse born which could outrun a dragon" (obviously). However, she continually gets outran by horses- and not while she's freshly hatched (weak). I also feel Saphira has waaaay too much "personality."

There is a scene where these things, zombie-assassins (Ra-zac's's's'ssss), dripping with bugs (wow! Just like those things in the Lord of the Rings?!) almost catch Eragon. He ducks under something, and the zombie-assassin jumps on top of it. Eragon proceeds to have bugs dripped on him, much like, I don't know, the Lord of the Rings. Wowzers, Bowser. Go Go Gadget cut & paste.

Meanwhile, the female protagonist, Princess - yes, princess- is an elf named Arya. She was not presented as an Elf, just a wiggy human princess- I didn't know until I read, that she was an elf. As we all know, elf + princess = Zelda with absolutely no exceptions, so this movie copies Zelda completely and totally. Her ears were not pointed.

The final battle was AMAZINGLY LAME. I am totally, and completely, in awe at the scriptwriters, or directors, or whoever's moronic idea it was to put those lines in there. "Into the sky, to win... OR DIE !!!" Oh my gosh. I mean. Wow. There's being nitpicky, but then there's the pattern of ULTRA LAME lines during this final battle, which CANNOT be denied. WHO could these lines possibly appeal to?

The movie receives heavy criticism (rightly deserved) for being too much like Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. Because it's set in LOTR's time, but has a very similar story to Star Wars. He is a farmboy (Luke was a farmboy). His uncle died, freeing him to follow his destiny (Luke). Then he met his mentor (Obi wan). Then he escaped the area before the troops could get him. And that's just the first five minutes.

Less people will pick up on this and it's less widely reported, but the author copies Anne McCaffrey's Pern novels (that's E as in "everyone," not O as in "that'd spell Porn lol"), as far as the dragons bonding with a certain person and talking telepathically. The first Pern novel was published in like, the 60's. I do not know how extensively he copies her; it probably goes on and on.

I like how the princess acts; however, I also dislike how the princess acts. I think I liked her more when she was dying, and disliked her more when she got healed. Her clothes seem to mysteriously change from some sort of REALLY uncomfortable looking thing, to a really comfortable looking fabric which I am sure didn't exist back then. She doesn't make extensive use of her elven magic.

I didn't like the fighting (you don't let a bigger army past your only choke-point!). I did like the fire-breathing. It seems that the only thing this movie didn't copy was the "jumping-into-levels, non-linear" style of Super Mario 64. Owww, BURN.

The movie does have some redeeming qualities, and I do like it, but it's too short. Another half hour even would have done wonders, though nothing can do away with the copying.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this a 7.3 if you like fantasy adventures, and a 5.3 if you won't forgive the plot holes, and label it worth watching. My only problem now is deciding if I want to play Super Mario 64 on the DS or N64. I am thinking N64...

Metroid Birthday Run

Ever since Kev's Birthday #16, the best birthday I have EVER had, I have played Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. That is because, well, it's the latest in the franchise, of which I had a system to play it on.

Off-topic, and on that note, it was insane of me not to have a DS. Man. I have an NES, you know? No games (just one), lol, but I do have a working NES and all the hookups. I have an SNES (limited games count though), and an N64 of course, and a Gamecube/Wii. If I have a DS, that means the only games I can't play are Gameboy/Gameboy Color. That's solved by buying a Gameboy Color or a Gameboy Advance.

So, back on topic, I just now realized...I will be able to play Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for this year, as it's coming out August 20th, and my birthday is October 6th!

But do I really want to play Metroid Prime 3: Corruption?

For the last two years, it has been a tradition playing Echoes. I am not superstitious, lol! You're silly!!!

\

What if I miss Metroid Prime 2?

What if it just doesn't feel like a birthday? I suppose that's just a risk I have to take, for progress marches on. I am simply typing my thoughts.

In preparation for Metroid Prime 3, I am buying Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid Prime: Hunters. MP: Hunters has a storyline between Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and Zero Mission is before Metroid Prime, a remake of the original Metroid, and with some new story.

I ordered Zero Mission, and later I will order MP: H. That's $18 price tag is scaring me right now. I will soon find out how much I have to go until I am once more free from the burden of cash!!!

Metroid: Zero Mission : Nintendo, Nintendo of America, Inc. (GBA, 2004)

TOTAL: $13.48

The Digital Voice Recorder

Well, sometime ago, I mentioned that it was one of my deepest, darkest dreams to own a digital voice recorder.

Well, yesterday, my Mom called. "Hey, Kev, why are you still in bed? It's 11:30 AM!" she said.

"Well, I was tired, Mom. And I was up until 2 AM. What time is it?"

"11:30! AM! Half an hour until Noon!" she replied.

"Oh."

"So Kev, I found a voice recorder at Walmart for $30. Regular $45."

"Wow! Get it! Does it transfer to computer? How many hours does it record? It's digital right?"

"Yeah Kev, it's digital. It has included USB cable - it's even the one you need to transfer pixxxs to your comp straight from a camera so you can stop taking mine! Also, it records up to 18 hours in low quality, and 10.5 hours in medium quality!"

"Yes. Get it."

"Okay."

It is an RCA. Model RP5030. It is neat! I am right now listening to a clip I took of my Turok 2: Seeds of Evil gameplay. 23 minutes of recording is about 2.6 MB. Which is neat.

It also lets you use it as a type of iPod thing. The only thing is, it isn't optimized for that, I don't think. Like, you'd have to manually select the file. I think. I assume, at least. I won't be listening to music on it. I think. At least, I assume so.

Lol, there went Adon. "Harpoon gun. Your oxygen is low." Some things she says sound reeaally like a four-year-old did it when played on the recorder. In the last second of some things she says...it just...sounds like...a little girl did it. She has a light, light english accent, and I don't think the VA has an English accent, so it f...ROFL, I went through some hell there. That was when that sharpshooter Blind One jumped me. Anyways, and her voice echoes. One of the best voiceovers...or...the best voiceover, I have ever heard. Her voice was crap compared in Turok 3. :(

My Mom is mad at me. I threw away some food. It was frozen, and it was unlabelled, and we need space for the beef. She wants me to- get this- OPEN UP whatever I throw away, and wash it off- unbeknownst to me what the hell it is- and THEN throw it away. Sowwy. Not doing that. The thing is, most likely, it is bad anyways. If it is unmarked, and it looks like crap, it's getting thrown away.

It's trippy listening to myself. I have a good voice, actually. I just need to learn to...I don't know. Talk clearer, I think. I will be ordering The People Under The Stairs soon. It is one of my favorite movies.

...ROFL. I just said, on the tape I made (after a horribly splattery sound) "...I just cut his head off." Lol! So matter-of-factly. Next on my list is a DVD Recorder. I need it by Monday so I can tape that upcoming bloc of Anime on Sci-Fi. I think at least, I probably won't like half of it. I cannot stand Adult Swim's commercials and bumpers. Lame.

Outrage!

Okay, so it was a good night. Much as a full moon glistens on the surface of an unmoving lake while crickets chirp in the breeze.

I had Arby's for dinner. I have a thing for Arby's. I had Arby's when I first got the Wii, and I also repaired the porch that day. Well, a 4'x4' section. I had to go straighten up my room juuust a tad since I wanted the Wii to have a good welcome. I set it in the hallway (it and accessories/games were in a brown bag) and quoted Jesus Christ. I forget what I said exactly. I mean, I remember, but I forget the words. Exact words. You know what I mean.

I had three sparkling waters in the fridge. I don't drink sweetened soda, as it is...well...too sweet. So, I took one to my room.

How I would regret that.

Did I ever tell you I keep a notebook and book light and pen next to my bed so I can write down TA notes? Yes. I do. I have the notebook halfway filled, and it's useful in every aspect of the word. But...the soda spilled.

Normally, the four horsemen would trample through the room, the house would be swallowed up by not only flames of the everlasting inferno (with resentment), but also the ground, opening its killer maw to crush us like a fortune cookie.

An organic, multi-human fortune cookie. However, since this is sparkling water, and not sugar-laden sugar-death, it does not stain or slowly evaporate and concentrate into poison death. As a bonus, the four horsemen do not trample through the room and the house is not swallowed up by everlasting flames of fiery inferno, and also the ground does not open up its killer maw and attempt to crush us like a multi-human fortune cookie.

However. The soda (water) spilled on my TA notes.

As I have previously stated, if this were normal soda, the horsemen, and stuff. So I am grateful I like sparkling water.

I watched a movie, called The People Under the Stairs. It was great! I loved that dude, "daddy." What a psycho! The Answers.com "Plot" is wrong...it is either eyes, ears or tongue. Not all three. I saw, actually, no blind ones. And they could hear I think.

Then I went to write something down in my TA notes. I don't remember what it was. All I knew was, I felt around, and I felt something wet.

And cold.

To my horror, I discovered the spilt water. I sprung into action. I got like eight paper towels and put them between the pages, then sought a source of FLAT and HEAVY. I could not find FLAT and HEAVY in my room. I went to the living room. I thought the VHS tape shelf would qualify as FLAT and HEAVY. However, it did not.

I THEN FOUND THE FILING CABINET!

It was both FLAT (and how!) and HEAVY (not so much!). So I got four one-gallon cans to put on top of it. To make it heavier. I tipped it sidewayes(saywhat?) and put the notebook underneath it. I can now only hope. And dream heavy, and flat, dreams. I may iron the notebook. If I have to.

And now, just the icing on the cake...by the way, Mom, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

The icing on the cake ... to my horror ... and... I was thinking of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. How it's a great game. You know, the usual. If it was only more personable, and soft, and warm, like Metroid, I would really love it (like, really). However, Turok is neither personable, soft, OR warm. Turok isn't too personable, and is not soft, and is not warm! Maybe warm in a BAD way, but not warm in that comforting, soft, and personable way.

Then I saw Perfect Dark laying on the floor.

I have mentioned Perfect Dark before. Yes. Joanna (I think that's how it's spelled!) Dark. She is the one who talks, but not too much. Game is based off of the Goldeneye game engine. Has a sequel on Xbox 360 (I think Xbox too) called Perfect Dark: Zero, made after Rare left Nintendo's employ for Microsoft. Rare is said to have pulled Nintendo out of a slump, and made some of -THE- best games on the system (N64, their hayday). Then they cooled down, and Nintendo did not want them I guess. It is said to be a "friendly" leaving. As in, Rare might work for Nintendo again. I am unsure of this. Do your own research on this.

Anyways, I saw some weird thing. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is rated M. For Mature. For GRAPHIC VIOLENCE, BLOOD, AND GORE (not "quoted," that's just things I could apply). You can shoot holes in thing's chests, and see through them. There are these things called Fireborn, which reside in Lava, and are fire-dinosaurs. You shoot them and can blow them off of their legs, leaving their calves standing there. Shaking.

You can blow somethings head off. Or its arm. You can blow half of a torso off of something, then watch them stumble around, off-balance. You can blow the head off of a raptor then watch them stumble around like a chicken. And then, there's the Cerebral Bore.

M. For Mature.

So I saw this weird thing. It looked like, lol, like an M on Perfect Dark. LOL! Yeah, that's silly. As, Turok 2 has M on it. Not, M and 18+. Just M.

So I picked up the cartridge. Mmm. Plastic. Paper. I am glad that DS uses cartridges still...so anyways...IT DID SAY M!!!

Perfect Dark features shooting. Shooting. Turok 2 features fountains of blood, with limbs and bodies being blown apart. Granted, these are not humans. However, Perfect Dark only features...you know...blood spots on the wall and red-colored "dots" on the soldier's clothes. You get that?

Blood on clothes.

A bit of blood.
Ketchup.
Catsup.

Turok 2 features blood spouting out of (newly formed) open body cavities. Blood spurting out of open body cavities so exaggerated it is on par with the vibrating breasts in newer games which are supposed to be more "realistic." Last time I saw a woman wearing a bikini, her breasts were not rippling (also her bikini was not skintight enough that you could visibly see her breasts rippling under it).

I don't really have extensive experience in games like those, so I may be exaggerating. Just a...disclaimer there. I will do some research some day. But until I find out if I am or not, I am going to continue screaming "SAMUS IS BETTER THAN ALL OF THEM MADE INTO A POPCORN-BALL LIKE MASS OF FLESH!" with an eye-twitch.

...just so you know, if they put anything near those kinds of physics in any Metroid games, I am going to cry. The Super Smash Brothers' Brawl footage is bad enough, but that isn't "rippling." That is bouncing. Which is a normal, healthy activity for breasts.

So yeah. Somehow, someway, Perfect Dark got rated M. That game is E 10+ if anything! It's just shooting people! And not, like, people who suffer! These are NPCs who have no story, and the graphics are not advanced enough to show them bleeding really bad or anything! JUST BLOOD SPOTS!

...but whatever. It's just, what if someones parents went by the ESRB ratings? Man, why even have it there if it's so inaccurate?

See, Perfect Dark would get...Violence, and Fantasy Violence. "T" rating would be fair. Not "Graphic" violence. Splinter Cell? Certainly. Give that an M rating. OH NO WAIT, SPLINTER CELL GOT A "T" RATING!

THE WORLD HAS GONE TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET!!!!!!

Unofficial (bought) Samus Aran Cellphone!

Yes. I have given my phone to my Dad, as he needs it more than me, and I don't want to pay for it anymore. That's some wheelin' and dealin', there.

However, in case of, rabid zombie attack, hellish hell-ghoul demons (from hell), or werewolf attack, chupacabra goat-stealing, power outage (possibly caused by any of above), or just phoneline exploding (also, possibly caused by any of above), or the laughingly slight chance of me needing to use the phone in case of a normal, non-raging-hell-beast emergency, I need a phone.

However, I refuse to pay $441 a month for the thing. That's good, because it only cost $50 for my previous phone per month, for 3000 anytime minutes. But I still don't wanna pay the $50, as I, at my MAXIMUM usage, only use 300 of the 3000 minutes. So the solution is a pay as you go phone.

If I don't use it, I don't pay. However, it costs more to talk. But if I talk at my MAXIMUM, it only costs $30 per month, opposed to the $50 per month with no choice in the matter.

And yes, AHAHAHAH, it is shiny-red-colored, just like the Unofficial (homemade) Samus Aran Measuring Spoons. PICTURE AT RIGHT!

You will note that it is a "SAMSUNG." Guess what the first five letters spell? That's right. Samus. Kinda.

Now do you doubt that it is an unofficial Samus Aran Cellphone?! NO!

Although, it isn't cannon colored, or orange. To my knowledge, Samus has not had a suit that was red. My knowledge is limited, however...

The Dark Suit IS kinda red. It "feels" red, at least. Like it's, dark red. Dark suit. Dark red. Get it?

I am in the Lair of the Blind Ones, or Level 4 of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, right now. Whew. So, yeah, I HATE this one part. It is an aquatic maze. You have to run around, or, swim around at warp speed trying to get to pockets of air. This isn't so bad, but it's a PAIN until you figure out to use your map. I am have (whoahh, we'll get that in editing. Right boys?! (RIGHT!))the whole thing memorized by heart. I now own it. I transferred 80% of the map to my computer, and once I get the other 20%, and think about it, I will upload it to GameFAQs.

That will finish what was started. THE TIME OF THE LAIR OF THE BLIND ONES AQUA MAZE PWNING ME WILL SOON COME TO AN END!

"Cheney's lesbian daughter gives birth"

[MAKEITBLUE] [MAKEITCLICKABLE] [MAKEITTURNPURPLEAFTERWARDS]http://wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55836 [/MAKEITBLUE] [/MAKEITCLICKABLE] [/MAKEITTURNPURPLEAFTERWARDS] (I can't Link ATM, see? Only non-clickable text appears. AND, using code isn't working!!!)

Rofl. That has the sound of a joke. You know, like, "Mark's Green plant destroys Earth." It is also very easy to say, which makes it sound more like a joke. You know, "Cheney's lesbian daughter gives birth, and I don't care." I don't know how else you say that someones lesbian daughter gave birth, but there has to be a way that doesn't make me laugh. Such as,

[QUOTEIT]"Cheney's alternate-lifestyle female offspring bears one (1) male infant."[/QUOTERIZED]

Yes. That makes me not laugh.

I am a genius.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil: Level 2

Well, I was dreading this level. It always scared me. Plus, it is only the second level, but I got hopelessly lost and skipped! I figure I got halfway through...oh, by the way, this was back when I played with cheats, in like 1999. So I figure I got halfway through the level before I skipped to level 3. Eight years later, I return to pwn it- and without cheats! Man I'm lame.

Level 2 spoilers!

It took me like 3.5-4 hours, over two days, to beat the level. I had to go back to the beginning once...I got the two soul gates, but I missed two of the Sisters. I got the one in the most elaborate graveyard like a shark at a beach party, but missed the "easy" ones, lol

I got the one Sister, and one of the soul gates yesterday. I then stopped playing, as it was getting late, and I don't need to have to worry about this stuff when it's late and getting dark and, frankly, zombies are most likely to appear. (Welcome the "Superstition/Worrying about Monsters" tag!)

Today I picked up the paddle (N64 controller really rocks now that I learned to hold it at an angle) and, after running around a while, destroyed the other soul gate. The soul gates are, well, gates which souls utilize to become zombies. That's one monster in this level: The zombie.

They're weird. Mostly unlike other types of zombies. These ones pitch their own rotting flesh at you (woahh, TMI), and halfway have their bones showing. They make creepy sounds. Also, there's usually an unlimited amount of them- they respawn after you kill them. The only way to stop them (usually there IS no way) is to, weather permitting (IE thing is there), destroy what's making them respawn. Either a Sister of Despair or a Soul Gate will make them appear. Otherwise, they just haunt up the place forever...unless they stop appearing once you beat the level. I don't know about that.

The flesh eaters made a return. This time, there was no demonic welcoming cutscene. Rofl, I totally owned the sentinels with the exploding shotgun shells. Those shells are the bestest. I encountered the biggest, baddest flesh eater of all. The Lord of the Flesh. Two of them, I think. I ...they were MUCH, MUCH easier than a Death Guard honestly. The Lord of the Flesh seems to stand still like an idiot and take shotgun blasts to the face. The fight layout was very well orchastrated, and it was scary when the four flesh eaters popped out of nowhere. I actually, rofl, backed into one in a corner, then it started pounding me. Fun times.

New weapons (besides the ones which are currently un-attainable (have no fear, we'll get that in editing!), or I failed to obtain) are war blade (upgrade to the talon), and the tranquilizer gun, and the Mag .60. Which is a handgun which...fires bursts of three shots, an upgrade to the pistol. SADLY, SADLY, the clip was not enlarged. SHAME. That would have rocked. Still, it is awesome. It usually kills endtrails in one burst (3 rounds), and it's so far the most powerful. Well, shotgun is slow firing.

Also, I got the Leap of Faith ability. I had to find an eagle feather some dead dude would like, and then give it to him. It's fun to use.

The level has a dinosaur called the Riding Gun, which you ride. It has two rocket launchers, and a very powerful (albeit slow firing, and weirdly-arcing) gun. It's ...like a REALLY slow chaingun. I guess. The dinosaur is pretty big (like 6 foot back-height), and is a Styracosaurus. It's slow, but unlimited ammo makes due. It only lasts for a bit.

My only complaint about it is that you can't dismount from it at any time. I would personally like to chase down an endtrail, have him duck into an opening, then get off and hunt him down. That must just be me. I'm glad the section isn't too long, as I would bore of not being able to ...y'know, walk.

Did I mention that the endtrails and company want to exterminate mankind? Yeah. As Adon explained, they have a "much more sinister agenda." THE EXTERMINATIONATION[sic] OF HUMANKIND!

So, the boss, or, rather, minibosses, are these three Sisters of Despair. They are like, I don't know what they do.

I guess...well, it's never really explained WHAT they are. I suppose (undead) witches (thus raising the undead hordes!). They have no lower body, but do have 9"-1 foot of spinal column hanging down. They're green (WIIIITCH!) and have two horns, and move about in a weird fashion, a fashion which I can only compare, weirdness wise, to Orchid's victory dance in Killer Instinct (SNES). You know, that one. I loved that.

They float, by the way. Kinda in a circular pattern. They make the CREEEEPIEST wailing sound! It's almost terrifying. I would have loved chasing them down. Then you'd have to walk through their undead legions of hordes of undead zombies to get to them, and they could jump out and do a special attack, but noooo.

Along the way, I figured out how to destroy the soul gates. I was going about it all wrong. You have to SHOOT them. I hate it when you can't tell something is being damaged. ...I would have liked one of the supporting "legs" (think: round mirror in a stand with two legs) to have to be destroyed, then the gate crashes down.

The raptors made a return. So did the raptoids (the weaker of the dinosoids, or genetically engineered dinosaur bad-guys). The Campy's (the dino that's a foot tall, which the guy in Jurassic Park shocks to hell and back) are annoying, but they're now joined by the ...you know those Baboons in Turok: Evolution? That make the TERRIFYING sound, as if they're a GIANT FREAKING KILLER DINOSAUR?! Well, these things, leapers, are the same. They don't make terrifying sounds, but they're sure creepy. And harder to kill than endtrails. You have to stop and get out your (newly acquired!) war blade. Speaking of ammunition:

I was disheartened that ammunition did not respawn in this level- except for the soul gate/sister of despair sections. But that kinda sucked, I mean, I loved the other way's randomness. I hope it makes a return in an upcoming level...I think I have all the keys for level three AND four. I will go for level three! Then I'll backtrack to level 2 again, and get that grenade launcher. Then, I'll go after the charge-gun in the same level. Ah, so brilliant. Of course, I thought the tranq gun was the plasma rifle, but still, I'm sure I guessed right on the other two. Totally sure.

So far, the game has taken a step down from the previous level. This one was very tedious. I can only imagine the horror of level five/six. The level had dead people in it, moreso than the first level. Soldiers impaled by...steels of some kind...ten feet high on a wall. It wasn't creepy. What would REALLY be creepy would be finding one guy still alive- I guess kinda like in Turok: Evolution. So ends my mini (haha, mini) review of Turok: Seeds of Evil: Level 2.

I will further refine this in the final, master review, along with the overall game review. Prolly in two weeks or so. Now, I have to make dinner. There is a chance I will post again later.

Metroid Prime 3 Release Date!

Let us not spoil this moment with words.

TA Update

Well, I'm not getting a terribly far distance. In fact, I am going through a faltering period, much as when I was sick. Last time I was sick I completely lost the will to continue on with TA, and for weeks afterward. That's how I remember it, at least.

The old refrigerator (we had three fridges, and we have two stand up freezers, Al Gore would kill himself!) got taken away. Actually, we got our neighbors old one (it had a funny smell, and he's a Jew). So, also, my Dad's job needs a refrigerator. So we gave them our old one. And we WERE going to get this new one, the neighbors, but then we realized how much we LOVE the empty space. We could put SHELVES there for the pans and stuff! Oh baby!

Why is this relevant in a TA update post, you ask? Well, that fridge is where I was putting my tape. I put tape up and write on it with a marker I keep in the kitchen. So when I'm doing dishes or something, or cooking, I can just walk over and write down what I just thought of. It has to be tape so that I can then remove it and put it on aluminum foil, and then keep the hard copy. It's a thing I do.

I feel confident I could do some voices. Hopefully at least one of the main character's, and of course a few others. Such as the dudes who try to con people into buying stuff (think: Chet Rippo).

I still haven't figured out what kind of world they would be in. I don't want it to be as the current world (it might offend some people, honestly), but I also want to be able to make jokes about, say, the French. I was originally thinking of having something crazy happen during the 1500's or so, that changes the way things turn out. See, I also want common things- such as, I want ...say an AK-47, not some unnamed, made-up gun no-one will recognize.

The only problem about an incident occurring in 1500's is that then the US wouldn't have been formed. Of course, I could go off the theory that everything still happened as it did. Which I would.

Then again, I also want different things to happen. Such as, I don't want airplanes. Very few- I will attribute that to society's wishes (such as, people will travel less). Helicopters would be used (somewhat extensively) in their stead. Also, less space exploration. I don't know if there will be satellites.

Also, the continents would be closer together (some of them actually merging). Kings would still be around, albeit they would work off of a different system. I don't have the idea of this down yet, but I do know that the "enemy" (IE, not Team's continent) would have a face, or a King which is ...the popular King I guess. Then the actual King behind him, which doesn't make public appearances, but has the real power. The Face would be the dude who makes the speeches, and he would still have a relatively large amount of power. Also, he would be replaced somewhat often (rarely living out their "terms"), as he dies if the people so choose due to civil unrest.

There would be two MAIN continents, and I would like a neutral continent between them. This one would, well, be neutral. There would be a few other smaller continents (like Australia). Weather would be slightly different. I'd like to see a man-made floating island on the other side of the earth, as the continents will be gathered together more-also, extensive sailing. I need to study up on the continents. What do they call that, continentography?

I am having trouble connecting the chapters. I have bits and pieces of the storyline together, including some serious ending ideas, but I need to think of more pieces. Such as, I can't figure out the beginning (you know, how it connects), but I DO think I have an idea for the beginning "enemy." That's right, I am going about this like I'm making a video game, and there are levels. Brilliance!

I don't yet have a grasp of how ruthlessly, brutally difficult it will be making a series like this by myself. Just making it is hard enough, but then I have to get voice actors to work together. It's bad enough finding someone to voice every once and a while, such as the voice for Ness's, uhh, I can't think of the word. Adoptive father, I guess? He will make appearances near the beginning, really all the way through. And definitely at the end, so I'll need someone willing to continue voice acting for several years.

Then, Ness's voice and, God forbid I need to find a VA (voice actor duh) for Dan. I could imagine, that the only way to fully finish the series, would be years of production. I guess an average Flash episode is like, 8 minutes long. And 15 minutes, people get bored. I would say each episode would take two weeks if I REALLY worked on it- and that's only after I have momentum from previous episodes. Probably a month if I didn't work on it THAT much, and some would probably take only a few days if I already had the stuff drawn and just had to animate a bit and put voices and sound effects.

But the voice actor for Ness would, first off, have to be talented. Which would cut off at least 95% of people I would meet in real life- it takes soo much more than the ability to act to be a voice actor. Then, she would have to stick with voice acting- probably often- for years. Or, I could go the other way, and animate it all, then in a few years add sound and voice acting. But boy, that'd be slow work with little payoff until I begin adding voice actors and publishing, also, I'd miss out on any suggestions they may have, and their acting of the characters lines may call for differing expressions or actions, or even lead to a different event occurring. You know?

Of course you do. So now you're somewhat updated, and I've thought out my plans somewhat. I do feel a strong leading from God to join a church. This would open alot of doors.

Like Les Feldick says, God generally talks to you by open and closed doors. If a door is closed, you don't push it, you just wait for the open door. And like Hal Lindsey says, God knows what's good for you, and praying for Him to change that will not end up right. Rebecca St. James is playing right now. I love this song. "Forgive me."

Soo, Song of the Day is "Forgive Me" by Rebecca St. James, on her If I Had One Chance To Tell You Something album!

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil: Level 1

Throughout the years- it's been like, seven years since I played Turok 2, and that was with cheats, and I warped through several levels- I've fondly remembered this game for destroying my ability to go outside at night. What got me was the Purrlin.

I'll explain that, and them, once I get to that. And them.

So, I played the first level. What fun. As I previously mentioned, when enemies leap out at you from around a corner (almost always scares you really) it's usually weaker ones. So you don't, you know, end up having to fight a tougher one. R E S PECT

I like the mix of dinosoids. I like how the weaker ones pose less of a threat, but they still are difficult to kill, and the tougher ones are a pain to kill, but not that much. I also AM IN TOTAL AND COMPLETE LOVE WITH the fact that they feel pain, and stop shooting momentarily, but not too often, and not for too long.

Like, space pirates (Metroid) don't flinch. They don't stop shooting and hold their arm, you know? I loved that about Goldeneye/Perfect Dark's enemies, too (although, Goldeneye's were too easily "flinched," IIRC). It makes sense. It buys you time. It lets you feel good that they're in pain.

Also, the raptors own. They are also a perfect (okay, I don't mean 'perfect,' perfect, I mean "I don't see how they could be better") mix of coming at you and making crazed sounds, and attacking. If they were ANY more accurate, I would hate them. But as it is they are not overpowered.

So yes, I completed the first level (WITHOUT CHEATS OMG) of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil! Awesome. My daddy must be a terrorist, CAUSE I DA BOMB!

Uh...yeah. So anyways, it was nerve-wracking. I had to go back to the beginning of the level bwecase[sic sic sic] I forgot to do the first distress beacon (uhm, who is going to help?)

First Level Spoilers:

I also got to see the Spawn of Oblivion! The ones which made my brother cry, they are so fierce. I think he cried, at least. They DO sound pretty demonic. A bunch of different voices, all echoing around you, talking about stuff. Hard to understand, cause they overlap their talking a bit. Cool things. The one thing I ALWAYS remembered was "the Sons of Stone will fall this day." They must have made it the clearest simply 'cause it pwnt.

They were also perfect. They're soo HARD to kill. They, three of them alone, two Death Guards and a Sentinel (I think I got lucky and blew the other one to hell in one shot? or maybe there WERE only three) took me down from like 85 to 22 HP. I finally used Explosive shotgun rounds on them (looking at monster FAQ for their names, it DOES say to use explosive rounds, so I gots lucky), and that pwnt them. Well, a bit. They're so tough! In Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion, they SUCKED! You could kill them as easy as an endtrail (which is a crocodile-human-looking-dinosaur-hybrid, armed with pretty flower-blaster that fires pretty pink power blasts!...and grenades).

Why are they called Flesh Eaters? I mean, I guess, but I've always thought of them being the "Spawn of Oblivion." Oblivion is this big evil presence thing, kinda like Satan. They would be his heroic (in a sense, at least) demonic vanguard.

Okay also, step one of level 2 is done. I have gotten to the ladder where I have to leave my dinosaur (think: Yoshi, but with four legs and TONS of teeth).

Woman Convert to Islam Plots Bombing out of Loooove

That's right. Loooove.

Link-

And Link.

I'm definitely putting some psychotic broad like this in TA. Real-life events are so crazy they make for good drama.

...speaking of which, why are events such as retaliatory bombings of sorts played up to be so dramatic? They hit us, we bombed the bloody hell out of them, they died, life goes on. Why recreate it and distort facts as hard as they can (think: Steven Spielberg's "Munich")?

Remember that one bombing on that one beach in that one town?

Kev Is Playing Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

Welcome the 'Things I Love' tag, complete with romantic jazz music and a really, really deep man's voice saying "Aww-yeah, baby. Things I Loooooooooooove. Mm." If you could, you know, imagine that.

...and it's somewhat fun. When I play games, I (and I assume everyone, really) get moderately sucked into their world.

Depending.

Certain games, such as, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess go on for 60+ hours. That's alot of being sucked into the game.

Other games, such as Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion go for five hours. Needless to say, there isn't much world sucking going on in those mere five hours.

So, one thing I do not do (or, strongly avoid doing) is to play games in a row. For instance, playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask ("OOT" and "MM" respectively, both work off the same engine) one after the other sucks you into the particular (in this case, Zelda) world.

Which is sometimes good, and sometimes bad. I mostly dislike it. For instance, playing a terrifying game for hours and hours can make you really nervous and jumpy (and cause irregular heartbeat!). Playing Mario for hours and hours won't have much of an effect.

So, new topic I guess, I did some research on Metroid chronology. It turns out, the only game I need to play is, I believe Zero Mission. Zero Mission is a remake of the original NES game.

The order goes Metroid/Zero Mission, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Metroid Prime 2, Metroid Prime 3 (not out yet of course), Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, and Metroid: Fusion. Lots of Metroids. Only one Samus. MAN THAT'S CLEVER

That's, I mean, like, I haven't played Fusion, Super Metroid, Metroid II, or Hunters. I don't know if I want to play the ones which go later in the series without playing Corruption. I might, but I dunno.

Zero Mission. I am scheduling a So, I should, in my mind, get Metroid Prime: Hunters soon, then a few months later get Metroidplaythrough of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker for sometime this monsoon. Dead, smack in the middle of it (I love the sailing part, as it storms!).

Then, sometime in, probably early November of 2007 I will play Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Then in December, or like, the coldest time of the year, I will play...probably Ocarina of Time. Or maybe I'll leave OoT a wild card incase I just don't feel like playing one of the other games.

OF COURSE, I will be playing Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on my birthday. Gonna play it set on "Hard" this year. I didn't last year because I was too scared of messing up the time. As I have like, five days to get to a certain part. We'll see.

Also, I would like to try to play Metroid Prime. I'll also leave that as a wild card, as I have no reason to want to play it. Such as, I LOVE playing Wind Waker during the monsoon, during the storms.

...One time, I was up late-ish, and my Mom was too. It was like, 10 PM. Lol. Anyways, it was raining. I was just in that one area (the, temple was it? Where the chozo-wouldbe girl had to go) and messing with those mirrors. That is a good memory. Also, one time, I was playing whilst it was storming really badly. That game just always had the weather going for me. Also, I watched Jeepers Creepers for the first time halfway through it. And I have to have GOOD chocolate chip cookies (63% chips, and lotsa coconut) and Toblerone bars while playing it. Much as I have to have Mother's Oatmeal frosted cookies while playing Turok: Evolution.

And, oh man, who could forget playing Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on my birthday? My sixteenth birthday, which my dearest Granny showed up for? Oh man. That was the greatest birthday in evar. In fact, it was such a great, awesome, spectacular birthday, I am going to spell ever not just evar, but ev@r. You better believe it.

So uhm, anyways...I am playing Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. Fun kinda. I don't quite understand if it's fun or not yet. But I am getting desensitized to the monster part! It still freaks me out when I turn a corner and a dinosoid LEAPS OUT AT ME, but usually it's one of the weaker ones, which I really respect. It was cool of Acclaim to do that. Imagine fighting a tougher one by surprise!

I realized what is was about the enemies in Turok: Evolution. What do they all have?...THAT'S RIGHT! THEY ALL HAVE MACHINE GUNS OR SNIPER RIFLES!

What the hell? Man! In Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, those things CAME AT YOU! Not stood back and took cover (okay some did occasionally) and shot. They would run at you and claw you given HALF a chance. And if you ran and took cover, well, they'd come after you. And not just 'overwhelming you with numbers' come after you. They'd make you feel chased. That makes me feel appreciated.

I think I needa give Turok: Dinosaur Hunter another try. They say that one was the best, but I got a really bad feeling from that game.

Welcome the "It's a Jihad out There" tag. IF THE FBI IS WATCHING, I AM TALKING NEGATIVELY ABOUT IT, I AM NOT A JIHADI OMG I AM A CHRISTIAN, DUDE LEAVE ME ALONE! Actually, you're free to tap my Internet connection, and my phones, you will find nothing. I do do research on the Jihad mentality, so don't confuse that dude.

I suggest checking out this interview. It's Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch and some other dude on some chicks show. It's great sound (how clear!), and Robert's voice rocks out loud, and the guys agree at some points which lets the conversation go on, also they are respectful to each other. And Robert is awesomely knowledgeable. In fact, he is so awesomely knowledgeable, I do believe that... he must be a witch.

New Keyboard, New Mouse!

Well, I am currently on my Mom's computer. I am using a new keyboard, it is wiggy. And hard to type on. I keep hitting * instead of I. Weird.

As I mentioned, it is a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 (v 1.0). Cool looking thing, honestly.

Also, the new mouse came. It's the Logitech MX518 Laser mouse. It is AWESOME. It's almost as cool as a scar!!!

It has the adjustable "DPI," which I assume is "dots per inch." I also assume that means that 1600 DPI moves 1600 dots per inch. So it moves fast.

Which it does! In fact, I am gonna play Command and Conquer: Generals and see how accurate it is.

Hold on.

My Mom's desk, chair and "home office" space SUCK COMPLETELY. Just...for the record.

But I realize my Mom LOVES her chair and who am I to say terrible things about it? Just because *I* don't like it, doesn't mean SHE doesn't like it.

Well, C&C: Generals was a blast, although my legs starting hurting 14 minutes into game play. My mom finally kicked me off the computer. That was after my dad and I were fake screaming at each other to shut up because The Hal Lindsey Report was on.

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion

Well, about three months ago, I began playing Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. For my research. Back off.

Yesterday, I began playing it again! Thus the lack of posts. Kinda. Anyways, I played for, oh, say four hours. I already had one hour logged- so the game (on easy) was about five hours long. I enabled invincibility, as it had been months since I played. I had to get used to the controls again. I turned if off like an hour afterward.

So, I'm playing. Actually, doing better. See, MY problem was the AMAZINGLY CREEPY SHORT GREEN MONSTER THINGS in that military complex. How creepy! Can't tell where they are. Stomping, spitting. Creeping. Respawning.

That's one big problem with this game. Enemies respawning for no good reason. It's fine if they're all stuck in a room together, but come on, I don't want to SEE them respawn and be like, "wow they just materialized there." Shamelessly, they still try to hide the fact that they are respawning in front of me, the filthy things. It ruins a part of the "realistic" that I find necessary.

There's also the length of the game. It is SHORT, and did not have an "epic" feel, such as Turok 2 or even Turok: Evolution. I could turn it on to hard difficulty (or however high it goes) and spend five hours on the first level, but the fact remains, it is SHORT.

Honestly, it feels unfinished. This game feels like it needs at least five more levels. The bosses look cartoony, too. Like Zelda bosses. Which is fine for Zelda, but not for, what is this game, Mature? Yeesh. I don't want to see people cut in half; I want to see bosses which don't have google eyes!

They...kinda made levels connect too fast, too. Like, one minute you're in some ruins. Then, the next minute-- without warping in any way-- you're at the enemies castle. Granted, there's then a warp there to get to his main castle, but ...nevermind. Just seems that they didn't put much thought into it. It's probably related to the fact the game is five hours long.

Also, maybe I'm expecting too much.

It seemed like there were three weapons: gattling gun (firestorm), shotgun, in the earlier levels pistol, and in the later levels rocket launcher, and then they tried to force the cerebral bore on you- I don't like being forced to used weapons I dislike. Come to think of it, this game was missing alot of stuff that Turok 2 had. Such as the torpedo launcher. I'll forgive that, though; that torpedo launcher terrified me, because that meant WATER!

I also disliked the whole, you know, fighting the same enemies. What were there, like ten enemies for the last two hours? Yeesh. I DID like the fireborn- except for the google-eyed boss. Man. You know, the first part of the game was scary. Then it started warping into what Turok: Evolution would become. The first part was really nice, come to think of it...

The first part focused on monsters. Evil dogs, and spider-human hybrids. Then, the military complex WHICH IS INFESTED WITH GREEN MONSTER DUDES, which somehow coexist with soldiers. THAT was when it made the leap!

Then the next "monster" part was the fireborn. Which sucked. What was that, a SIDEQUEST?! OH MAN! Why didn't they do better! Those fireborn deserved their own haunted temple-volcano!

Anyways, I know this review isn't too positive. The positive is, uh, well, it IS a Turok game, and, at the risk of sounding like some fishy creep, the first part was awesome. At the end, they had a way-too-mysterious-for- not-continuing-it-for- several-games storyline. As in, we still don't know what the hell is up, and it's been like seven years, and the next one is not the continuation.

I DID enjoy it, in a sense. I would buy it for $4 off of Half.com, but I would be upset, and maybe crying if I spent $50 for it. I will someday play Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, and then I will play a Resident Evil game, but until that day I will enjoy being able to sleep with the lights off, thank you.

It's 10:01 PM. The witching hour. The new Draft autosave looks neat, right? Like Gmail has.

Game Trailers' Top Ten Women of Gaming

Link to YouTube, as Game Trailers' site would take some getting used to! Whew! That thing's mad!

So anyways, as I was browsing YouTube, I drifted to Turok gameplay. I narrated a bit of it. I made myself laugh, I made myself cry. Then I noticed the "Top Ten Videogame Weapons." I HAD to look. Turok's Cerebral Bore was, I think #10. Samus's Ice Beam, from one of her 8-bit games (I claim to be a rabid, adoring fan, yet I do not have all the games! AHHHH!) was ranked somewhere. Edit: The game was the original 1986/87 Metroid.

Then I saw "Top Ten Game Girl." Watch it first, this has "spoilers."

I had to look. Not so much because, well, the words "game" and the words "girl." Sure, that's good enough of a reason, but moreso, because I am always on the lookout for places which Samus should show up.

For example, Video Game Vixens, category, "biggest guns," there's Lara Croft, with two pistols, and Samus Aran, who has such a hugeantic arm cannon, "cannon" qualifies as a color when describing her. "Yeah, man, she's got GIANT shoulder pads-- SPIKED shoulder pads-- and she's green, black, gray, red, orange, and CANNON!" "Cannon?" "CANNON!"

Yet, Lara Croft wins. Why? Well, apparently, they did a viewer poll. So of course Lara would win. But the "judges" even voted Lara. Which is fine, you know, I don't expect too much. But still. I do believe Samus came in second, so that's good. God, please, may there never be a Metroid movie. Please. Lord, please. Strike dead the man who thinks it up.

So, I was watching, right. I was thinking, "those jerks, if Samus isn't up there, I'm going to send them a disheartened email!"

Then, #2 position came up. They show Lara Croft, doing some kind of acrobatics. Or, as I like to call them, "whorobatics." Heh he hheh. Then I KNEW they showed Peach earlier. What's this? Not even a MENTION of the Metroid bashing blonde girl?

This couldn't be.

If I had a gun in my hand, I would have shot myself.

Then...OH MY GOSH THAT SHINY MIDRIFF

YAY! I thought to myself.

If I had a gun in my hand, I would have put it down, and watched excitedly!

Now I can dream sweet, sweet dreams of Dark Suit Samus. Oh, man, I loved that suit.

I like it so much because it looks, like, veiny. Like it's incomplete. Or organic. But then there's the metal. And then you get the light suit, and I don't like that suit as much. It's too smooth. Too...bright.

(Turok 2: Seeds of Evil begins)

Kev (gameplay being recorded):

"Yeah I got it Adon. Yeah ju-...shut up alr-...shut up. Come on. Shut up. Jus- shut up. Come on, I'm ready. Yeah yeah I know, let's go let's go. OK, Scotty. Beam me down."

(beamed down to surface):

"To right wrongs and triumph over evil...

...I am Sailor Moon!"

Yes, the beginning of my adventure in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil which I am hoping to tape. If I am going to tape it, I will need a mini DV camcorder. I could do an elaborate setup with my current camcorder, but that's so difficult and the quality so low it's prac-tactically stupid to do it.

I think this is a good way for me to advance my voice-acting skills. At this point I have like, 10 voices, but about 8 of them need serious work, and I'll get to hear what they sound like if I tape the gameplay. Oh, embarrassment of embarrassments. Rotten, stench-infested rule of embarrassment! How long will your GUN-BLASTED reign of chaos rain?!

I also have a plan for being after a monster (I have the perfect one in mind!) and, you know, "stalking" it, then...getting a phone call from "Grandpa"...then getting off the phone in a hurry, and looking back, and, CRAP, the thing is GONE. Then jumping down like an idiot right into the frenzy of it all (making an irrational decision just because it's gone).

I think I will be playing it with cheats, as I really do not have the time to go back 'cause of dying.

I suppose the first, qualifying step is to get a mini DV recorder. And I won't be buying a mini DV camcorder for a while. After that, I can do a test run and see if I can make myself laugh. If I can do that, I can do anything. I am a stone-cold, emotionless being of pure, 100% cane ANTI-LAUGH. That's right.

Uhh, nothing really

Edited and updated Sunday, July 8th, 2007

Apparently, when you're younger, you remember things awesomely. I remember when I was ten or so, I owned Goldeneye's maps. Not so much I was great, but I remember a lot of detail about them. I sucked actually.

I still do to this day. Uhm, remember them, that is. Worded that badly.

Yet, recently, and I am smarter, I cannot recall many (if any!) of Perfect Dark's maps. Perfect Dark had almost the EXACT same engine as Goldeneye. The characters moved the same, it was...basically that engine with new characters and a little better graphics.

A game engine is what runs a game. For example, in Command and Conquer: Generals, they use a certain engine, the SAGE engine. For Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, they use the same engine. I am fairly certain some of the more popular FPS, such as Halo and, I dunno, like, Half life or whatever? Use the same engine. Also, Metroid Prime 1 and 2 use the same engine (or at least, they're very similar). Also, Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong: 64 used similar (probably the same) game engine. The list goes on.

Then when I was, I think, from 13.5 to 16 years old playing MUD games, or Multi-User-Dungeon. Online. They were text-based, so I had to imagine a lot of the stuff. Also, I had to remember the ways to places.

Every once and a while, I get a craving to play this game. Cause it only really takes like two or four hours a day to play (I mean, you know, more or less, some stretches could go 7 hours). I entertain the thought a bit, and think, well, I do have three or four hours of free time, during which I am bored.

I start thinking, you know, I could get this, get four of these and start a game, and now I have highspeed internet, but I know I don't like the game. I don't even know if my old gang is around. Lemme see. I kinda abandoned them you know, they haven't had any way to contact me for over a year. I didn't just LEAVE, but I left.

Well, it appears that Mike and Joe and Brian are still fighting the good fight, all in the same clan. Jason is inactive it seems. So is Amy.

By the way, I ordered my Mommy a new keyboard and mouse. She is going to be like, "Wow, Kev, you were smart to do that research! You are the good son!"

Hmm.

Be right back. I downloaded it and am going to log on real quick.

Okay, I am back. It appears they weren't online, just have stars around their names because they are staff. Lol, about the time I left all my friends became staff members (not many people become staff, like 5 or 6 out of 500 people were staff). Well, about seven of my old friends became staff. Weird, huh? I ran in the best crowd I could find. There were four crowds. One of power-hungry misfits, one of good players, another of good players (although somewhat dispersed), and one of lameasses. It occurs to me that if I stuck around another few months, I most likely would have became staff as well. I would have turned it down.

...and those are also divided into "skill-wise" and "personality-wise." So some of them sucked because they had bad characters, and some sucked because they were idiots.

Well, another day. I COULD leave a memo for one of them. Say something noobish, like, "how do i get 2 resthaven." Okay, I did it. I memoed Aeryn, AKA Brian. I am going to make contact with the people I knew more on a personal basis first. Like I said, I don't like the game anymore, so I will not become addicted.

Oh, and the point of this post was led astray. I will address it one day.
